Someone of this calibre who has connections to players outside of the UK. I've got more chance of winning the lottery however.

As poor as our recent form is, and as baffling as some of MON selections are, he has enough credit in the bank to continue. Campbell injury as well as Clucas on going injury problems have been a huge issue. The season turned against Cardiff- the injury and Vokes missed pen and all down hill from their. Our playoff hopes were also crippled by the turgid run of draws against the divisions lower sides away from home. He has a tendency to be negative - but I just don’t think he trusts the current group and that has shown in his approach. We can’t sack another. The problems at the club run deeper than the manager and I for one think that with a fully fit squad throughout the season and with fans in the ground we would have been better off. We need freshening up next season (again) and some real legs in midfield. A striker, another wide man with pace , a midfielder or 2 with good energy and a left back ( although I think fox Is ok) and I genuinely think we will be ok. We also have a crop of seemingly positive youngsters who should be given a chance now the season feels like a dead rubber- seeing them would also make the remaining games watchable. Keep calm and I’d he doesn’t do it next year or come close then it’s the time to panic. The biggest issue is that whilst I agree that the problems run deeper than the manager those problems are Teflon coated which means the only way to get change is to change the manager again, this club needs a total root and branch over haul desperately if we are going to change the shirstorm we have become, the board and CEO are responsible for our position Jnr and Scholes mainly.

I would make Shawcross' stay in the US a short one. If we wrere looking I'd hope they'd have at least a little experience, someone that isn't learning on the job. It really isn't the right place for anyone to do that right now.

Cartwright was made the scapegoat but I think Scholes should have also been shown the door. The Coates would, if they could, continue to throw whatever money was needed but they now can’t. It’s those around the Coates family that are the problem - including those that influenced the Jones decsion who aren’t even board members.

Bottom line is we look like finishing the season below Gary Rowett’s Millwall and Nathan Jones’ Luton.
That’s pretty poor. The problems MUST be at the club.
All of which ironically means changing the manager may not improve much. I just HOPE the young lads are part of a long term plan that requires the offloading of the loanees and the old guard.

Even if he was offered the job I don't think Terry would take it in my opinion. His sights will be in a higher profile position. We've become a bit of a poisoned chalice. From a respected, upwardly progressive, money in the bank club to a rudderless shit show of mismanagement and vacant identity. Our recruitment record must be one of the most appalling in recent times. Who was our last really successful signing out of interest.?? I will say Fletcher is ok.

We're relatively unattractive now. Just another average Championship job, and one with an FFP straitjacket. Looking back at the steady, older types people were championing, and were Coates-type picks, when MON got the job, they're all off the table now - and some of the left-field options at the time are too Hughton's at Forest, and not pulling up any trees Pulis isn't coming back. Moyes is employed - and doing brilliantly. Allardyce is on his last hurrah We nearly got Neil, so suppose he'd be on the list - although maybe not if he messed us around as it appears he did at the time QSF ship has sailed Monk crashed and burned at Wednesday Pearson's in at Bristol City Cowley would be mentioned, but wouldn't get the pulse racing Terry would be the Gerrard/Lampard-type pick. Complete shot in the dark though McInnes isn't popular at Aberdeen anymore Bowyer isn't doing great at Charlton Karanka isn't doing great at Birmingham McCarthy's in at Cardiff Warnock's in at Boro Doubt Steve Clarke would leave Scotland for us. Maybe for Celtic, but not for us Cook would have been popular but is off the table Laudrup hasn't managed in 3 years since 5 years in the Gulf and looks to be semi-retired. Jokanovic is leaving his job in the Gulf this year, but we are much more unattractive now than when he turned us down. Stendel got the chop at Hearts, and looks more like a product of Barnsley's infrastructure than a top manager. Howe wouldn't come, wouldn't want him anyway. Obviously Lampard wouldn't come. Rafa is an absolute pipe dream Martin O'Neill is 5 years past it at least Bilic? Not for me and wouldn't come anyway Vieira? No chance We could quickly be down to untried lower-league Jones-type punts, whoever John Coates' mate in his local fancies, or a Watford-type foreign punt blog.marathonbet.co.uk/young-football-managers/None of the suggestions on here knock my socks off - Ryan Lowe, Michael Appleton, David Artell? At the level we could attract, it'd be just a punt if we went for a Watford type foreign option. I honestly think the guy who worked the oracle for Northern Ireland and came into a train wreck in November '19 and guided us to the third best record in the Championship in 2020 looks quite attractive at the moment!

If we had Campbell fit for the whole season we’d be comfortably top 6. It’s a tight league and any team that lost their star striker would struggle. With Campbell hopefully fit and firing next season and the other young players hopefully kicking on we should be in a better place next season.

I don't think Brentford are the same team without Toney 25 goals 9 assists, now Campbell isn't that level, but it's a tight league and one player can make a massive difference. Like was it Bowen for Hull last year they went from top 6 to relegation.

There are obviously people out there who'd do well - although if any could transform us until we're over the worst of FFP, who knows? Once it was spelt out to them what next season would entail, they'd probably run a mile extra.ie/2021/03/04/sport/soccernews/why-chelsea-coach-anthony-barry-could-be-a-massive-coup-for-irelandSomeone like this bloke could be a genius, or an absolute disaster in a Steve Cooper-y type way Bristol City tried the old assistant surrounded by 2 England age-group coaches and it was a train wreck You can see that someone like Corberan has got Huddersfield playing with a real identity - and wants to be a budget Bielsa. They really tried to be "lively and inventive" in their choice after a solid-type in Cowley. On occasion, it clicks, but more often than not, it's been a disaster Maybe there's a small chance Lampard would come, and add a bit of glitz to the mix. But I'm not at all sure he's any good at actually being a manager. Terry, we'd probably stand a bigger chance because clubs seem reluctant to give him the chance due to his colourful past - but it would be an absolute punt with regard to whether he could actually do the job www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/02/14/john-terry-always-managerial-bridesmaid/

MON is on 1.5m a year, isn't he? Plus a bonus of that amount for keeping us up last year? Can't see there being that many managers in the division on a significantly bigger deal
