This is the type of player who should have moved up from U21 football to reserve team football, to develop there against senior pros However because reserve football doesn't exist such players get bits of first team football here and endless loans In my opinion, players over the age of 21 shouldn’t be available for loans anymore. Simple restrictions would strongly discourage player hoarding. I do think that players should take loans at a young age though (17/18). The National League offers 1-3 month loans. Youngsters can be tasked to learn something new and then come back and have those experiences built on. I think it would take a lot more commitment from clubs with regards to personalized development plans, but I do think it would serve youngsters better in the absence of reserve team football. The football in the national league is so far removed from championship that they'll likely learn nothing footballwise. They might learn different dressing room culture and different, as in poorer, training methods. If you want to shirk the responsibility of educating young footballers then by all means let them waste some months there. But if you have a plan with the player, keep him well clear of the lower leagues.

He could well be heading to none league, his stature will always be against him. Then send him to Barcelona where they love players of that size. Both teams names begin with 'B' and then hmmm I can't think of any similarities. However, I do wish him every success there.

Messi, Xavi, Simonsen and many others. All small players who would never have stood a chance in English football. Actually Simonsen did alright, but it was for Charlton!
