Surprised at that. Thought Roman might have given him some more time. Ambition ? if they are not happy with how things are going so the manager inevitably gets the bullet, thing is he spent a shed load of money this season and a lot of his signings are not cutting the mustard.

After observing how these kind of things are handled in Russia, I'm guessing Frank will be glad to get out of this alive 😱

Sacked, gets contract paid up, probably replaced by Tuchel who was sacked by PSG at Christmas. contract paid up moves on.
It seems that a manager needs one good run at a club to create a reputation and from then on is on the merry-go-round of appointment, sacked and paid up, appointment etc
Crazy world.

Got the job purely because he’s an ex player. There’s no way on God’s green earth they would appoint any other manager who had just 1 decent seasons experience in the Championship behind them. I think it was more about Jody Morris working with the younger players for a year whilst they had their transfer ban. Should have sacked him in the summer, needed a different type of manager to deal with the expensive signings that the club were buying. How much did they spend? No real plan it seems. Stupid way to run a club but lots of the big clubs round Europe follow this model.

They appoint a young up and coming manager and expect instant success??? What is the point of appointing a relatively inexperienced manager if you don't give them time to develop. First poor run...out of the door. Remember Man Utd should have sacked OGS, just 4 weeks ago.

He turned into a right arrogant knob and didn't really seem to have the management skills as yet to back it up.
Thought he should have been sacked straight after Leicester game where the commentator praised him for being brave in going after Leicester from the off. Very next sentence said Leicester's home record isn't as good as their away record where they can play counter attack but struggle to break teams down at home. Leicester won at an absolute canter.

Doesn't that just suggest those pundits were talking rot though? The media has been falling over themselves to talk him up because he's English and because of his reputation as a player. He was wildly overpromoted into the job and at the first sign of trouble he's thrown his players under the bus. How often does that work out well for a manager? I thought he did a very good job at Derby so how he was over promoted I’m not so sure🤔 As for throwing his players under the bus I’ve not read that but sometimes home truths don’t go down to well with the generation of players/ folk today and for me is a reflection of society also. Very very harsh decision for me but let’s see what happens with the Kraut before judgement is made Since when did finishing sixth in the Championship qualify you to take on one of the biggest jobs in the country? Would Gary Rowett have got that job? Criticise your players in private by all means but save it for the dressing room. That isn't a 'modern society' thing, Fergie was smart emough to know that's how you do it. You can't take none of the blame yourself, constantly blame your players and then expect them to respect you. It's a dick's trick.

He said Fergie told him he was no fucking use to him at Anfield because the crowd got to him so he tried too hard. Admitted he was quite often dropped for it and can remember he regularly seemed to have a niggle before those games. You'd never hear Fergie coming out though and saying 'Wayne's pish at Anfield so we're going with Park today' though because he knew what he was doing.

Clubs like Chelsea are pathetic. You've got to win every match you play or you maybe sacked.
Nothing good about clubs like Chelsea. I'd hate be a supporter of a club like that.

Being sacked by Chelsea has little impact on your reputation. It's their m.o. and it's proved successful so fair play.
Lampard did a great job last season but has had trouble recently getting results with a very expensive squad. They were top though a month and half a go so things can change around.
All this he didn't deserve the job is total crap.

It’s a shame. Club legend getting sacked.
Havertz and Werner were world class last season. They haven’t settled and will come good next season but their failure has led to Lampard being sacked.
It’s a shame as Lampard did well with the youngsters last season and Chelsea have some really good young players. They will definitely be better next season and Tuchel inherits a potentially brilliant squad.

As for calling players out in public I have no problem with that now and again when it’s deserved Yeah, you didn't answer my question Mutts. Why does finishing sixth in the Championship and losing in the play off final qualify you to take the manager's job at one of the biggest and richest clubs in the league? The thing about calling players out in public is you can't take the credit when they win and then blame the players when you lose. That, rightly, is going to breed resentment. A manager in his position really can't come out after every bad result and point the finger elsewhere constantly.
