Is 'woke' the new term for PC? (Have been in a long slumber for the past 12 months). Yes. It’s what latter day Alf Garnetts rail against instead of saying “it’s PC gone mad”.

Strange old game. Somebody on the Hasselbank thread has said how good she is. I am more worried about Murphy not wearing a hat ! That was me I was fishing ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif) she’s shocking. Just sounds totally amateur.

My feelings are irrelevant mate,I just copied it off Wiki. It’s just that based on that definition, it really doesn’t seem like this force for evil that people are getting so upset about... Each to their own mate

Maybe we can swap her out for Andy "back three, Jack Clarke is a wingback" Hinchcliffe.
He talks complete bollocks, but at least he's a man and talks bollocks quietly.
Man alive. We're back to the misogynistic crap again are we?

Has anyone heard of her before? 144 caps for England. Maybe but it doesn’t make her a decent analyst. I’m not sure why they feel ex players are automatically great analysts. Kelly Dalglish has never kicked a ball in her life but she’s actually really good at what she does because she’s just herself and clearly well educated.

As you've described it as nonsense, and written quite a lengthy post, would you just give us your understanding of what 'woke' means? Woke (/ˈwoʊk/ WOHK) is a political term that originated in the United States, and it refers to a perceived awareness of issues that concern social justice and racial justice. Thank you for the reply, I'm slightly more interested in Harry the Hat's understanding of the term so please don't be offended. I think the definition provided is relatively accurate to what I would understand it to mean so it is interesting to see why Harry thinks that justice and more appropriately equality is nonsense in his mind. I'm hoping he can provide some real illumination or he could just be another blind beggar, who knows.

It was more in response to 'who is she'. She's a womens football legend.

Been in the England set up for years and for the 99.99% of football fans who have no interest in the England women's set up? You mean there's still that many people that actually care?

Regardless of gender, she's not a very good commentator. Neither was her co-commentator.
And since when do you get 3 points for winning a cup game?

Another case of society getting upset over the slightest word , worlds gone mad , the BBC are destroying them selves with the diversity crap , if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it It appears you're getting more upset about it than I am which is ironic. I've said on multiple occasions now I have NO PROBLEM with criticising Karen Carney, I personally don't think she's great. I just think the way in which it was said was disrespectful and I would say the same thing if the OP slagged Glenn Hoddle off in a similar way. I’m not upset at all , everyone is entitled to their opinions, I’m just saying mine

With the exception of Laura Woods on TV I’m yet to find one. 5live should be an example of all media outlets how not to do it

What would you prefer the woman to be called? Women aren’t immune to criticism are they? Her name would be a start. And if you don't know it?

I am absolutely convinced the usual's on here criticise women in football because they're a woman. But that's a matter for another day...
This thread title is unbelievable. As another poster rightly said, it's like we've travelled back in time. Fucking disgrace.
Get it shit binned.

True, she is one of the better presenters but like Kirsty Gallagher and Gaby Logan she didnt get the job entirely on merit.

Some proper thick bastards still walk into these cushy gigs, are we saying Paul Merson was hired for his erudite analysis?

The Oatcake is full of people slagging off commentators and pundits at every turn and I just find it weird, why feel the need to a) publicly vent it? And b) do it in a way which is disrespectful? At least be constructive about it. Anyway, I'm out now.
