Has anyone heard of her before? Been in the England set up for years and for the 99.99% of football fans who have no interest in the England women's set up?

Women? Football! God we'll be letting them play cricket next. That would be awful. But much worse - we'll be allowing them to become VP of the USA.

Yeah I know but hardly in the spirit of the FA cup and non biased commentary. Are you saying you never heard an ex player still class their cub as their own when commentating ? Strange

Her name would be a start. Has anyone heard of her before? Yeah she’s pretty well known. If people can see past the fact that she’s female and aren’t irked by the tone of her voice then she’s a fairly good co-commentator with alright points and analysis.

Ok - I'll bite
Women commentators are awful and they should keep them away from the men's game - how about that? None of them have played at a level that could even compare to League 2 in the men's game so how about we let some ex-Vale players commentate and pass on their insight before some screeching harridan?
More BBC woke nonsense - if they want real equality then put the womens' teams in the mens' league and let's see what happens
Have you looked at the BBC football website recently, when you click on "More" under Football Scores in the top right corner? Is that the BBC's view on the relative order of importance of the football leagues now?
I don't know what's more offensive, the suggestion that he Women's league now has a higher status than the Championship or that the Scottish Premiership has - either way, it's bullshit

Been in the England set up for years and for the 99.99% of football fans who have no interest in the England women's set up? Personally, I find it verging on the impossible to have any real level of interest in the significantly higher level and more competitive England men's team the vast majority of the time. So I'm definitely not remotely interested in any lesser examples of our national setup, that's for sure. Ps the thread title simply must have been deliberately provocative and was intended to give people the opportunity to use more 'woke' 'snowflake' pigeonholing of opinions that equate to equal treatment of the individual regardless of their race or gender.

So what your basically saying is that no one should commentate on football, or can even understand it, unless they have played at the top level? And that Women should only be allowed to be involved in men's football, if they mix men's and women's football together? Did you read any of that back to yourself before posting it?

We’ve had remedial, insight-free drivel for years from co-comms who’ve played at the very highest level. Football punditry needs more articulate voices regardless of gender or ethnicity. I wasn’t especially impressed by Carney, but the idea that she should be discounted purely because she’s a woman is repugnant and embarrassing.

Another case of society getting upset over the slightest word , worlds gone mad , the BBC are destroying them selves with the diversity crap , if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it It appears you're getting more upset about it than I am which is ironic. I've said on multiple occasions now I have NO PROBLEM with criticising Karen Carney, I personally don't think she's great. I just think the way in which it was said was disrespectful and I would say the same thing if the OP slagged Glenn Hoddle off in a similar way.
