He's class in all fairness. I’m sure he is, but to suggest with any seriousness that MON would look to a 17 year old wunderkid to solve our problems is a bit bonkers. Just scored against Liverpool 👍

A young player getting first team football who is definitely good enough and hungry for first team action is more along the lines I'd like to see us going down than some early 30's journeyman who isn't good enough to get into a first team of their current club and is coming to us to purely pass the time. We've had enough of them in our time. That's a bigger gamble in my eyes. Vokes & Gregory are prime examples, came to us with experience and known as a goal getters but have sadly failed to deliver nor impress. Could we really afford to go down that route once more? Barry is and has the potential to go all the way to the top, from what I've seen and heard he could well be an asset to us. It's questionable Villa will even release him on a loan as he's that highly thought of & is going to be on the verge of breaking through into their first team any time soon. That first half from Barry and especially the goal has confirmed the above I've been saying for weeks now. That boys a talent for sure!

Ive mentioned him before, but Louie Barry would be my suggestion if Villa would loan him out, could potentially be a master stroke of a signing. He's 17 & Can play as striker or winger & whilst being a raw talent, definitely knows where the net is. 7x goals in 10 for England U16's, 4x goals in 7 for England U17's & currently had 6x goals in 9 for Villa U23's this season after 1 in 1 for them last season. He's had a 10yr grounding at WBA with a couple of seasons training at Barcelona. Worth a punt to fill the Campbell injury void until May.. Its highly unlikely Villa would be wanting to sell Barry anytime soon as they rate him so highly, but a loan move whilst helping us out & being of benefit to the player, would allow Villa to monitor his progress in competitive matches with a view to him stepping up to their matchday squad next season. BUMP

Great goal by Barry! Really worth a go I think! Pace and calmness!

My point was that it won’t happen. I have three close mates who are Villa fans, and I know all about him. MON will not bring in a 17 year old to lead the line.

Fair one but I'm in the same boat regards knowing his qualities well. But I do think MON would trust in a 17yr old, why wouldn't he?! Even more so after tonight's showing. If we don't another team will surely try to. He'd be absolutely perfect

What sort of name is Gregor MacGregor? Almost as bad as Neville Neville.

Bristol City manager saying Villa will not let him out on loan - so presumably he was the striker Warnock was on about.
So we can forget him

Do we really want / need 'the new Mama' when we ain't got 'the new Ric' though?

Do we really want / need 'the new Mama' when we ain't got 'the new Ric' though? We mightn't have the new Ric, but we do have some pace (Matondo) and invention (Powell and Clarke) that might benefit?

True but, equally, if you played Powell, Matondo and Clarke where would you play KD, even if we got him?

Ties in exactly with what Holden said the other night so must surely be the one he was referring to.

I wonder if we're just waiting on Villa to sign a striker before they let him go?

he looks a good player but not a goalscorer If he was a goal scorer we would have no chance of signing him You either have to hit lucky or nurture one through the academy

Wouldn't imagine he's the player that is 'close' to signing though?. Has anyone actually used that term though? Holden said we were hopeful of getting one in before the start of the season, has there been any quote beyond that? Think Davis would be a good fit for us - mobile, strong, good in the air, will dovetail nicely with our other forward players.
