Thought Souttar was woeful tonight for me (one of his worst performances so far, mistakes that were made on simple things that are irrespective of who you are playing up against) and ultimately his shocking clearance led to them getting the 2nd goal. That mistake shouldn't have been made no matter who the opposition is, was a simple put your foot through the ball. He let Kane past too easily for the 3rd, but hopefully he will learn and it will improve him, so long as those mistakes don't creep into the league games. The second mistake is more unlucky; obviously it makes him look silly, but it's not as if he he wanted to play it straight to Davies. The first mistake is more difficult to accept. By going for the ball and missing it he transfixes his team mates and gives the Spurs player a field day.

Am I the only one who thought Souttar played well up against arguably the best in the world? The best in London maybe.

Liam Lawrence agrees with you. He just said that apart from one or two mistakes against world class players the centre backs were outstanding tonight. We are an injury ravaged average championship side, against a world class premier league side with elite players. What do people expect? I was quite happy to have come out of that without embarrassment. Souttar and Collins are inexperienced but real assets in the Championship as recent clean sheets indicate. A win at Coventry would be a great consolation now. I have to disagree with him. Souttar was shocking all game. I can now see why MON felt he needed to play 5 at the back a lot this season. So slow. Well I watched it as well and I’m going with Liam who I think knows a bit about football. No big defenders are quick off the mark, but Souttar covers the ground with his long strides and is by no means slow when he needs to shift. He’s had a handful of games and he’s doing fine in the Championship. He won’t be meeting the likes of Kane every week.

Dog shit stoke. Gave them all three goals. Amateur at times. Such a shame. I can't think of one decent pass, tackle, block that Souttar did. Had as big a mare as a defender I've seen for a long while. He made Alli's life a misery.

Watched on French Bein , they suggested we were too much on the front foot after we scored...... we should have brought on Shawcross and shut up shop abs wait for penalties Me too (re BeIn)...was your sound about 10 seconds in advance of your picture? A bit off-putting I have to admit. 👍👍same here but the red wine 🍷 saved me 5 seconds

Disappointing end to a good cup run, but not really surprising. In fact, the circumstances reminded me a bit of the FA Cup Final. We had a dreadful run of luck with injuries leading up to that match which was also against a quality side which was desperate to win its first trophy under their new manager, and, as a result, we weren't really in the game. Yes, we were better after the break, but Spurs should really have been out of sight in the first half, and always had more gears to move into when needed, as was shown. Still, good learning experience for our younger guys. You only get better being tested by better players, on the whole. Disappointed, as I'd hoped we might be the sole Championship representatives of the semi-finals, but as soon as Brentford won last night, I feared the writing was on the wall for us. Oh, well. Take it out on Coventry, lads

Gotta play Route One against teams like Tottenham. For mine, our boys performed well enough, despite being over-awed by Spurs in the first half. We (Thommo) even scored, off Brown, in a move that hardly looked promising. We had no bad players yesterday. Cousins and Collins especially impressed me, Thommo and Souttar played a steady game, McClean was industrious and Brown worked hard, most times alone, and slung in the perfect cross in for our goal. Would have preferred to see Chester and ShawX, instead of Powell and Vokes, though. Hopefully MON will have Allen, ShawX, Mikel, Verlinden, and Bursik available next start.

Quite surprised Spurs fielded such a strong line up against our injury ravaged side. So maybe we shouldn't be too harsh re the result and performance. If Mourihno continues to use Winks so sparingly, l can see one of the better mid table Premier League teams coming in for him (say a Leicester or an Everton). Top player.

Anyone who complains has the football knowledge of a Tree Loris and not one of the smarter ones
Went for 0-3 thinking Spurs wouldn"t risk Kane Son Bale etc and considering what we had available we did well to almost force penalties. A game we could have done without and Coventry far more important but good effort and scored a nice goal. 0
