Every other team bar Brentford in the league will have a week off so how would you approach the Spurs game?
I’d go with 11 changes (if we can) myself.
Is it too soon for Clucas and Allen to come back?

I’d probably go, injuries providing(assuming all plays who have come back will be at match fitness too)
Bursik Smith Shawcross Collins (needs more time at cb and pairing with Shawcross, if ready, against world class players, will be an invaluable experience) Fox
Mikel Tymon
Verlinden Oakley-Boothe McClean
Gregory/Brown
A game which has a high possibility of defeat, chucking our young ‘uns in against premier league quality, if we do well (a win, a draw or a 1-2 or tight 0-1 loss) will give them cracking experience

I’m too lazy for edit, so for my squad, see Lonergan for Joe

A chance to get to a League Cup semi final and fans want the manager to completely change the team🤔 Agree. Its one of the few chances we get to make history. It would provide a remarkable lift for everyone, let's give it our best shot and give ourselves a chance.

Spot on mate and especially with them likely to rest players I’d think and it’s 90 minutes isn’t it?with pens straight away🤔 14.4 In the event of the scores being level at the end of ninety minutes' play in Rounds One, Two, Three, Four and Five no extra time shall be played, and the winners shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with procedures as approved by IFAB.

I would hope that MON plays his strongest available line up, whilst not taking chances with any players carrying knocks. I have a feeling that some who are playing currently are not fully fit, but needs must in important league games, a rest, in those cases, would make sense to me.

We'll be in no position to make 11 changes and neither should we.
Depending on the outcome of Saturday in terms of injuries, I think it will be a simple case of who is fit and able......

A chance to get to a League Cup semi final and fans want the manager to completely change the team🤔 Yes. The league is way more important. Lonergan, Smith, Shawcross, Batth, TOB and Brown should be starting as a minimum. Collins, Souttar, ideally Fox but there’s no one else, Cousins, Ince and Fletcher should definitely not play.

I’m torn on it. We’ve had way too many games recently and performances have dropped as a result. This is a cup quarter final though. We don’t get too many of them and we don’t want the embarrassment of a hammering on live TV do we? I’d definitely play Ince. He’s barely played all season and way down the queue of players who need resting. The young lads should be able to cope.

I know it'd take a hell of a lot for us to even compete but up until two/three weeks ago I was really looking forward to it. Now I think it'll be a case of damage limitation as we put out a second string eleven.

I’m expecting a 3/4 niller anyway, anything else is a bonus. And we can still put out a more than competitive team. Ince should be used in the two league games either side.

How good would it have been to take them on with a full strength side in a full stadium 😞😞?

Think I'd have to look back and see who's got us this far and play them with the necessary changes to the walking wounded.
If Allens back I wouldn't be against him leading the way to the final.

I could make a case for Bauer and Wimmer playing. Realistically this is a game we are going to lose anyway. Playing these 2 in a game of maximum exposure means there is no hiding place for them. If they having any hope of resurrecting their careers and want to move on then surely we can expect some effort.
I could also make a case for saying they have already had enough chances, why risk disrupting what is the best dressing room we have had in years.
Who would be a manager eh?

Has anyone taken in to account that Jose may be thinking the same about his Spurs side. I can see the likes of Kane, Son etc being rested, similar to what they've done in Europe. Granted their 2nd team aint half bad either but it's not often we get this kind of opportunity and I imagine the likes of Powell, Fletcher etc will be relishing the challenge.
Just fucking go for it, it's only 1 more game in what is already a hectic schedule, we may not get this kind of chance again for 10 years.

I bet Campbell is cursing as it would have been an opportunity to put himself in the shop window - so perhaps a good thing for Stoke he's injured. Can you imagine Brown & Vokes up against Spurs, Then maybe Ince will take his chance by which time he should have a few more minutes of competitive football behind him. Chance too for Verlinden - maybe Tashley -Oakley - We are not going to win so I'd just say go out and prove yourself and enjoy the experience (before we ship you out in January)

Go for it - what have we got to lose? The games are coming thick and fast anyway, two days rest wont make a blind bit of difference.
Give Spurs a game and regardless of the result come out with our heads held high and its another feather in MON's cap as well as more good vibes around the club for a change.
