Am I the only one who thought Souttar played well up against arguably the best in the world?

Just showed up the difference in class. We all think Souttar is great but he looked woeful tonight coming up against better players. He has time to improve. Thompson gave us hope then in the end gave it away. Anyone still want to get promoted so we can lose every week like Fulham & the Baggies

I can't help thinking the score would have been different if we had played Wimmer against his old club!

I really like Collins, but Souttar tonight was as bad a defensive performance you'll see anywhere all season, it really was that bad.

He gave it away a couple of times first half and that was it. Collins was excellent. Cousins was excellent. Fletcher was excellent (apart from his headers in front of goal). Souttar had a bit of a mare but hopefully he'll learn from it. Collins is an absolute gem. Makes you wonder if Souttar was a bit more scared of the team sheet than anything, last year he was playing for Fleetwood and he's still young. He'll dust himself off and play a blinder at Coventry. Collins was fearless. Collins is a class above. Souttar has got all the plaudits but he's nowhere near as good as Collins. Collins is several years younger as well. He really is a gem.

I wanted to see how Collins and Souttar would do against a class side. Both did great and look like they could one day play in the PL.
Sadly some sloppy play opened up for two great finishes in the second half. At least the 2nd half we turned up gave a decent performance and scored off a great move. Pity about the 1st half, plus credit Longeran 3 good saves.

Watched on French Bein , they suggested we were too much on the front foot after we scored...... we should have brought on Shawcross and shut up shop abs wait for penalties

I can't help thinking the score would have been different if we had played Wimmer against his old club! Would have been 5-1 & no doubt he would have been giving high fives to Son & Co at the end of the game for old times sake.

Dog shit stoke. Gave them all three goals. Amateur at times. Almost like is was a top 4 premier league team playing a second string championship team

On the plus side at least Collins and Soutar won’t have attracted too much attention tonight. Small gains. What game have you been watching? Collins has been outstanding! I thought he played well enough but he made a couple of mistakes and Spurs scored three. That should keep the vulture away for a little while longer. I’m a massive Collins fan and I’m certain he’ll play at the very highest level. I don’t think he was as good as he can be/has been tonight. Then again he was up against genuine top class players.

Am I the only one who thought Souttar played well up against arguably the best in the world? He showed a bit of inexperience but what do people expect. He’s still a young lad and he’s just been up against probably the best No9 in the world No criticism from me

Reality check. That shows the difference. Good effort though and far from disgraced.

Very credible effort given the injuries and the circumstances and great learning for some of the younger ones , fo4 souttar it can help define him shawcross first game against Kevin Davies at Bolton and it was the making of him , he’ll either improve or find a level as a very decent championship stopper .
Fox Injury could be a nightmare but one more win in December from three games will see us in contention when the window opens .
Tonight could also be useful in thinkin* through how we approach Bournemouth as while not spurs for our level they have similar free scoring capability and approach

I thought the keeper did well - he made saves that Bursik was letting in when he first played. Rotate them till Davies is backLonergan was OK after a nervy start. But Bursik should play all the League games until Davies is fit again - and then it will be up to MON to decide who gets the jersey. There is a good reason why virtually all managers stick to one keeper in league games and DON'T make a habit of rotating them in the League. It is important for the defence to get used to playing with a regular keeper.

I can't help thinking the score would have been different if we had played Wimmer against his old club! Apparently there is a clause in his contract, insisted on by Levy, that he can't play against Spuds, for anyone. Daniel doesn't want any other club to twig how he cons them

Thought Souttar was woeful tonight for me (one of his worst performances so far, mistakes that were made on simple things that are irrespective of who you are playing up against) and ultimately his shocking clearance led to them getting the 2nd goal. That mistake shouldn't have been made no matter who the opposition is, was a simple put your foot through the ball. He let Kane past too easily for the 3rd, but hopefully he will learn and it will improve him, so long as those mistakes don't creep into the league games.

Dog shit stoke. Gave them all three goals. Amateur at times. Such a shame. I can't think of one decent pass, tackle, block that Souttar did. Had as big a mare as a defender I've seen for a long while. Really? He made several costly mistakes but also broke up play quite well These youngsters are probably benefiting from no fans in atm Bigger disappointment was McLeans inability to put in a decent cross, Fletcher and Powell wasting some good chances Goalie did well too

Collins has been excellent No he really hasn't. Both poor. Collins can't pass More horseshit. Collins is far more comfortable on the ball than 80% of our side, and is by far the most comfortable in our defence.

Well never mind, but a bit of fight second half and a good goal
The younger players can only learn from games like that

Am I the only one who thought Souttar played well up against arguably the best in the world? Eh? I can honestly say that was as bad a defensive display as you'll see this season at any level. I'm being harsh cause I'm dissapointed as I think in hindsight if say Ryan had played we could have scraped to penalties. Not one good thing did he do tonight. He was the difference for me in us getting something from that.

For a guy coming in out of the cold Lonerghan did fine however Bursik should play until Davies is back for sure At that point the manager will have a decision to make.

Souttar will learn from this Collins has been good This just shows the difference between top 4 premier league teams and top 6 championship teams Liam Lawrence agrees with you. He just said that apart from one or two mistakes against world class players the centre backs were outstanding tonight. We are an injury ravaged average championship side, against a world class premier league side with elite players. What do people expect? I was quite happy to have come out of that without embarrassment. Souttar and Collins are inexperienced but real assets in the Championship as recent clean sheets indicate. A win at Coventry would be a great consolation now.

Souter had a bad game tonight, but that doesn’t make him a bad player. On the flip side, if Vokes scores . . . (You finish the sentence)

I’m not as disappointed as I thought I would be, we’ve have bigger hidings from premiership sides when we were a premiership side ourselves. Overall it’s a not an unexpected results, it’s does prove though (without sounding like a pundit) you make mistakes against top sides and you do get punished.
I’d have still clapped the team off👏
