It’s not though. Who have we missed? The midfield has got better. The right back has improved. The goalie is the same if not better. We missed Campbell today. Exactly, how can you miss a midfield that's hugely bypassed with hoof ball. Like you correctly point out the defensive shield as improved since the so called injury crisis, which this type of football demands. The midfield creation is being stifled rather than encouraged and allowed. The reason the midfield is bypassed is because none of them could pass wind (Mikel excepted) and the manager knows this. Cousins is ok as a destroyer but very limited on the ball. We are crying out for a midfielder who can dictate games.

Exactly. You can’t miss something that wasn’t there in the first place. People keep mentioning Clucas and I love him but this season he’s been awful. We haven’t missed him in the slightest. We’ve missed last season’s version for sure but then we have when he’s been on. Yeah, at the moment it needs to be Cousins with any one from Mikel, Clucas or Tymon and really on form there's little difference between the 3 but Cousins as been superb at this level. Thompson seems to be in the Allen basket, where does he fit in that midfield? And it might be a case of he could offer something somewhere outside the midfield. The bonus is his age. Agreed re Thompson. Could he do a job at left back? No idea but I would have tried it with him to see if he could. Because he’s not the sort of midfielder I like.

Yeah possibly maybe in an U23s try both Allen and Thompson in both fullback positions. Of subject what's happened to young Corrigan haven't seen him in either 18/23s sides lately?

Mikel doesn't have the legs any more. Clucas is a box to box player and and can't dictate play and Powell should be further forward in the 3 behind the striker. Allen, who I like, is also not that type of player. We just don't have one and haven't since Nzonzi.

I honestly don't think we can judge what system is best until we decide what style we want to play. Currently the best system to use would be 4411 and go full on Pulisball, at least we know it works, shit to watch, but we don't have the players for that. We have 2 young lads who are ball playing CBs and were lauded for their range of passing early in the season, that's disappeared along with creativity we had in midfield. Like Bayern as alluded to we are a far better team than what we are showing at present and its not necessary, because its not due to the injuries we have witnessed.

From being Stoke home and away for years , to be spoiled by Premiership, to devastated now championship, to be stopped from supporting through covid , from Fonz, Bojan, Shak and the snake to Ince, Volkes, Brown and Mclean. (I'm not knocking their commitment or endeavour) but when Wolves now make our best premiership team look average, along with Leicester, and the Stoke I'm watching now can't trap of pass a simple ball. I've lost the will, passion, strength, optimism to bother any more .This is shit ,managers boring, tactics boring ,players shite, enough.ENOUGH. The only thing to bring me back is our manager going for it with 3 subs all attacking and a win what are the chances

I didn't think it was thaaaaaaaaat bad.
If that was "dour" and "unwatchable shite", dread to think what they would've made of the Derby game!

Yeah I agree wasn’t too bad and better than Derby and a few other games where we’ve won.
second half we came out with some gusto. We’re missing any goal threat but given that half our team are out then that’s kinda fair enough.
Think wazbagbro a few posts up nicely points out the disparity and issue us as fans with expectations and reality. Because it’s a 0-0 and we aren’t (not that we ever were) Wolves or Leicester then doesn’t have the desire to watch us. I understand the sentiment and can see why there’s most usually an immediate automatic negative spin put on anything from an awful lot of supporters on this board...... It’s a shame
No one wants to get involved in anything that is engulfed in a cloud of negativity and as supporters we are responsible for that.

We wasted another half again. And I don't get it.
Tonight was much better than Saturday but this whole dipping your toe in the water against shit teams doesn't sit overly well with me.
I just wish we'd be a bit more positive because when we are, we look bloody good.
