If it gets results I’m not too fussed about champagne football. How can some not see the correlation of poor results with the number of injuries? Poor football is no excuse for zero effort, nobody is expecting 10 messi’s but to look disinterested and not arsed when the team sitting third bottom is passing the ball freely in our own half is unacceptable, we’re not the only squad with injuries either Thats not being uninterested thats being told to let them have the ball.

Well of course we were, it would be a worry if we weren't but lets not pretend it wasn't still on the negative side. He didn't even give them a chance to do much today we gave up the game from the first whistle, sat back and let a dog shit side do what they want, it could have been interesting if we had gone to try and win it. Yea I don’t disagree, we weren’t really at it apart from a bit of a push second half. It would be interesting to see what the players were being asked to do, sit back and counter, or what. I'm guessing counter but Brown isn't up to much and Tymon seems more comfortable in the middle, he needs to start giving Verlinden and Ince a go if thats what he's after.

He is the only player who when he gets the ball (bar Campbell who was out injured) who makes me think something could happen here. Take him out of the team and there is literally no threat at all attacking wise from us. Also the point you make about him getting fouled alot is surely because the opposition feel that is the only way to stop him? Or am I watching a different game to you? Powell has been quality this season and is the least of our problems today. It’s two sides of the same coin, he is our best player when he wants to be but whenever we really need someone to step up and take control he doesn’t, there’s no denying he’s a good player but being a good player when we’re dominating is one thing, being a good player when we need a spark, just one chance is something else A little unrealistic to expect a player to single handedly win games just because he is good and surrounded by mediocrity. Shaqiri was similarly criticised the relegation season for not keeping us up on his own.

One of your wide players has to be able to create something out of nothing.
Tymon, Powell and Brown are all better played centrally and offer very little attacking threat wide.

I think we are sorted pretty much in defence, maybe besides Fox, midfield and attack is where we’ve had the biggest disruption but I fear Ince is done although he looked bright today, and verlinden has a lot of hype so he could be an asset. Need a decent transfer window really to stay competitive

I love the way people think buzzwords like “trusting the players”, “changing our mentality” and “attacking from the off” automatically equate to 3 points every game, like you just write those words on a white board and the rest follows, when the reality is MON is accumulating points with a squad that he’s still trying to turn over and injuries that have really affected us.....

2 shots on target in 180 mins of football and one of those was Vokes' penalty miss. Never an inkling that we went to try and win that game. Boring, dull, shit football again. Pathetic subs. Feel sorry for anyone who paid ten quid watch that. Thanks loony, I was one of them!!! 🤨

There are 6 or 7 teams that are a cut above the rest, I have seen 2 teams this year that are shocking(Wycombe, Wednesday) and then there are the rest.
The rest being mediocre, of which any one of those teams could take a nose dive or are already struggling - so for me it is 29 points down, 21pts to go.
MON has performed a miracle to get us sitting at the top the mediocre pile as it stands, but unless we get a few key players back from injury it could be a long winter. We simply cant score or create unless Campbell is playing, Campbell and Powell have either scored or created nearly every goal we have scored this season and Campbell is our main threat out of the two.
Nothing can happen in the window until we shed a few players, so it is going to take a number of windows to get the type of squad MON would ideally want - until then it is treading water and a hard watch at times and we clearly have players who are not quite good enough at this level - of which MON is having to play because of injuries and a complete lack of depth/quality in our ranks - Campbell aside I am struggling to think of a single player in our squad who would be a target for the likes of Norwich & Watford

We've got an enormous injury list, have jiggered ourselves out playing a high pressing game players who have perennial fitness problems and have an exciting schedule of games every three to four days for the foreseeable.
The goal at the moment is to not lose and to hand onto the coattails of the top six so that we have a strong platform to launch from when the above is alleviated.
I thought we were OK today, but I did miss the first half.

We do start like a dead dog though which is so frustrating because when we go behind we play so well trying to get back into games. Begs the question of why don’t we start like that? But we aren’t up to strength and I think that was in the mind of the manager and the players today.

Derby are better than their league position.
They drew 0-0 with a better team than us last week but I thought we had the better of the second half today- a draw being a fair result overall. We are what we are: a top-half side, but one suffering an injury crisis. Yes, the Norwichs and Watfords would probably have turned up there and come home with 3 points, but at the moment we've got to scrap our way to whatever we can get. Our midfield today was Jordan Cousins and Jordan Thompson, two League one players in truth, who'd be 4th and 5th choice for those roles if everyone was fit.
We defended well, looked solid and organised, and should be pretty pleased with a hard-earned point in my view.

Clean sheet , good away point , hanging on in there till we get some players back - I really don’t think there is much to moan about. Against a top six side I’d agree with you but against a team that’s conceded 22 goals to not even threaten? Not good enough Derby were unbeaten and conceded just 1 goal in their previous 3 games, including a draw away at Brentford, they may still be in the relegation zone for now but are clearly a much improved side.

My personal thoughts are that O'Neill does have to shoulder part of the blame for the poor performances. It's been going on too long, and more importantly, prior to the major injuries we have picked up recently.
This isn't some knee jerk, "he's wank, fuck him off" kind of a post, quite the opposite, I think he's perfect for us and over the last 12 months saved us from further humiliation; however, we look nowhere near as accomplished as we did last season.
We seem to be fighting as a team together, we seem fitter (although still not quite as fit as other teams) but we just aren't as threatening, or good.
The first half, it was like 11 dogs chasing a balloon. The ball was pinging everywhere, directionless headers in the middle of the park, inability to trap a ball, inability to pass it properly without it either a) being to hard and bouncing off the player your passing too, or b) not getting there. Far too much hit and hope up the pitch to no one.
The second half was better but why does it take one awful 1st half before we ramp it up in the second?
and his subs? fuck me MON! We can have 5 yet he didn't make any until the very end of the game, and then they weren't the ones we're crying out for. For me that sort of mind set is costing us. Do Bournemouth and Norwich wait until the 76th minute before they mak subs, change tired legs for fresh blood? Do they fuck, they're proactive.
very poor today and it's pissed me off.

Fuck me sideways. Everyone was saying he's the messiah a few months back, now people are starting to slag him off for playing catious due to a load of injuries. We know it's not his usual style of play, so give the bloke the benefit of the doubt. It’s been the “style” all season.

I'll take the point all day long and I like O'Neil a great deal but there will be a level of fan reaction with some aspects of his negativity once we're allowed back in for sure. I was thinking the same thing. The fans will not accept the one paced negativity and will voice their displeasure. How will our players react? Will they get a shift on and try to increase the tempo even though their passing ability remains poor or will they panic and retreat into their shell and try to avoid making any mistake for which the crowd could have a go at them? I don't know which way the players will turn but, make no mistake, the fans will not be patient if we play like this and are not winning.

We certainly don't seem to be coached much with regards to any attacking patterns of play. Just lots of defensive shape work to keep us solid and disciplined, and hope the front 3 can nick something off the cuff. Can't argue with the way we've hoovered up points since MON's arrived - but this season has largely been an absolute yawn after the excitement of the Carabao Cup and the unexpected Brentford win - and without Campbell's match-winning ability to get something out of nothing, hard to see it getting much different. I'm not sure the players we're missing (minus Campbell obviously) should render us quite that impotent Swapping Thompson and Tymon with Clucas and McClean would see a noticeable increase in goals wouldn't it?

They'd improve us, definitely. And they are losses. But not sure they've really been on their game this season. They shouldn't be losses on the Campbell scale. McClean's been involved in the previous 4 games in this run of tedious games to little effect - and Clucas has scored just the one this year, hasn't he? (although it was a beauty) This run of Wednesday, Wycombe, Boro, Cardiff and today has been as dull a run of games as we've seen for years. 8 points from 5 games is no disaster. Just the 3 goals though - and about as many times that we've strung together a passing move or I've moved to the edge of my seat during the game.

He would have been but since Tymon and Cousins have been in midfield we’ve actually had a midfield that have protected the back 4. We haven’t missed him. Bias? It’s not about bias 😂😂
