On the subject of Mr Vokes,a colleague of mine who lives near Basingstoke was chatting with a neighbour who was telling him all about her beach hut somewhere near Southampton on the coast....anyway she mentioned that a footballer called Sam who “played” for Stoke has purchased a belter of these huts next to hers,a lovely bloke apparently (?) When he asked me if he knew who it could be,his first name Sam,I immediately thought Clucas and was racking my brains as to another Sam that “played” for us,such is the contribution that useless shite has offered since his tenure with us. Anyway, there’s a bit of absolute essential information you can all mull over at your leisure. Why down there though?? He came from Southampton and Bournemouth was his first club, so he probably has retired there already, whilst being paid by us

If it does happen, can any of the clubs mentioned afford his salary or would it be again left to us to top it up?

I find it hilarious that in these tweets, etc, he's actually referred to as a "striker"
Who knew ?
I'd sooner he went to Sunderland - if he stayed in the Championship you just know what will happen when we play his new team....

Worth mentioning in here he's always seemed a decent professional and by all accounts was said to be positive for the dressing room.
It's not him that should be getting any shit so much as the scouting team. Anyways I think we all have the same opinion on Vokes at this point so some of the comments are beating a dead horse a bit.

I’m sure he will be definitely remembered by us. For all the grief he gets, he gave us what was in my opinion the absolute best moment watching Stoke in the last ten years (Boxing Day winner v Sheff Wed in 2019) and I’ll always remember that.

TBF he's not a lone striker but has always been asked to play as one. If he moves to a team that plays him as part of a front 2 he will do better. I get peoples frustration with him but I don't get all the personal abuse directed at him. It's not as if he's taken a selfie whilst wearing a Germany Shirt or cupped his ears at the crowd after he's had a shit show of a game. Gouranga.

I got really excited that a move was imminent when I saw this thread updated but that link tells us nowt. It was always pie in the sky Shrewsbury could afford him.
Can we please now not update this until there something more solid please, i can’t take the disappointment.

Moments like that are why we keep going as fans.

Speaking of dead horses No you are right, whoever thought it was a bloody good idea to pay £9m for him ad let Crouch go for free the other way wants sacking, shooting, hung drawn and quartered, then given a bloody good telling off

Awful player for Stoke
