When I go to watch Stoke I want the players on the pitch to better, I don't consider that booing them everytime they make a mistake and putting them under that type of pressure makes them better players. I generally consider encouragement to be a better motivator. That is not happy clapping either. You seem to think if you are not booing a player then you are actively encouraging their poor player. I think that is a ridiculous conclusion. If it works like why don't top coaches boo their players from the sidelines when they are on the field when they are playing poorly. You get manager's giving their players a good bollocking very occasionally from the side of the pitch but generally they encourage them to do better not continually criticise them. Or are they all getting it wrong? It's not every time is it? And when it happens it's a build up over months of uselessness. They will get the encouragment and nothing changes. No I haven't, there's no context there to even come close to that conclusion, it's not that black and white is it? Top coaches bollock their players up hill and down dale top coaches only exceptionally criticise/bollock their players from the side of the pitch in a way that might demoralise them.... only very few exceptions, they are mostly not in the game anymore. In the dressing room yes, that's a different matter. Anyway on a separate point I believe that the football will be different next season with a crowd, but potentially in a positive way for some. Decision making by players is different with supporters I reckon. I think certain clubs performances suffered without their supporters e.g Liverpool and Sheffield United. But the clubs that will benefit will be with those clubs whose supporters are prepared to get behind them.

Because I've been right for the last God know how many years about how shit this club is and the low standards our fanbase has. If you cared, you'd listen. Where do you sit in the ground bayern? I'll come sit behind you and boo your shit support. As if you go the game

They'd get demoralised either way if they're not strong. Our lot and the manager got away with murder without a crowd last year. It could go either way it really could. If they start how they finished last season then God help them.

Interesting point, Spit, if booing is an effective way of getting a player to up his game you have to wonder why the coaching team don't do it?
Anyway back to Brown, modest footballer he may be, he did score what l'd rate as the goal of the season (can't remember the game, now).

The point is, booing your own players makes you a monumental bell-end I disagree, sometimes they deserve it. Not before the game, or whilst warming up

I could imagine that would be quite funny to watch MON: Booooooo you’re fucking wank you are Brown. Fuck knows why I signed you. I’ll bring in a bag of wet cement to see if you can trap that fucker! You can trap a ball further than I can kick the bastard ! 😀

On the subject of Mr Vokes,a colleague of mine who lives near Basingstoke was chatting with a neighbour who was telling him all about her beach hut somewhere near Southampton on the coast....anyway she mentioned that a footballer called Sam who “played” for Stoke has purchased a belter of these huts next to hers,a lovely bloke apparently (?) When he asked me if he knew who it could be,his first name Sam,I immediately thought Clucas and was racking my brains as to another Sam that “played” for us,such is the contribution that useless shite has offered since his tenure with us. Anyway, there’s a bit of absolute essential information you can all mull over at your leisure. Why down there though??

You can trap a ball further than I can kick the bastard ! 😀 Brian Clough pretty much used to do exactly that (not that he signed the players mind), relentless abuse I remember him publicly dressing down Trevor Francis ( who he then went onto turn into the first £1m player) when he was awarded PFA young player of the year ( or something similar)- “ eh lad, take your hands out of your pockets when I’m talking to you.” Too many of our players have the resilience of a wet tea bag, which is why we have had 4 years of awful performances to contend with. Just happy clap them and they will suddenly be able to 1) control the ball, 2) pass to someone in red and white stripes, 3) play as if the shirt means something to them. Clap ‘em, call ‘em crap, they don’t have the moral fibre for it to make a blind bit of difference- the only thing that the majority are interested in is their salary.

They interviewed him on Sky last week about Wales in the Euros, and his location iin the top right wasHampshire, so maybe he spends the summer down there. Think he lives in Manchester most of the time though

Beach huts in many parts of the UK seem to sell for astronomical prices, especially in key areas like Sussex and Norfolk. Down this way however, in places like Lyme Regis (Dorset) you can still get some reasonable deals, so perhaps Sam got a bargain.
