I was curious about form after the references to the Championship's form teams in the presser. Over six games we're third, over eight we're second and amazingly over the last ten games, i.e. just knocking off the first two of the season, we're top of the table. And we haven't even played that well. It's a bit of a cliche but this division is so wide open. A 15% improvement from us and it's there for the taking.

I don't think we've played well at all but we're still up there and still scoring plenty.
As you say, if we can put some performances in then there is absolutely no reason why we can't do very very well.

It's certainly looking positive.
People on here were getting a bit annoyed by the fact some of us had the audacity to say we aren't playing that well. But that in itself is a great thing isn't it?
We're nowhere near our potential yet we're top of the form league over the past 10 games and sit 3 points from top of the actual one.
Considering how bad we've started the last 3-4 seasons, we've got every reason to be optimistic this.

Touching on what O'Neil said in his press conference, if we can cut out the individual mistakes then we should concede less as well. Very promising currently.

Interesting that we've scored the most by a considerable margin. 19 goals over 10 games is an impressive turnout.
The goals conceded is poor though compared to the rest of the top 6... Really poor when you consider we've played with a defensive back 5 for a fair few of them games.

It's all fantastic news, so many reasons to be optimistic and finally not a slow start to a season!
It should be a great game tomorrow with the top two in the form table going head to head (and obviously the top side in the table)

Really poor when you consider we've played with a defensive back 5 for a fair few of them games. this has always been the issue though, during the early games of the rowett run we scored plenty but were conceding for fun too, so he shut up shop and we became hard to score against but struggled to score too, we all remember how this ended..... i prefer us having entertaining games

It's not a dig at the management or the players, but we've only been above average so far this season and look where we are.
The league this year is poor. And we should be one of the best teams in it. If we start kicking on and playing better (I fully expect us to given who our manager is and the players we have in the squad now) then there's absolutely no reason we shouldn't be pushing for an automatic promotion place come the end of the year.
Although making the playoffs would be a massive step in the right direction given our last 2 seasons, part of me would still consider that to be a bit of a failure given the complete dross standard that the championship appears to be this year. Lets just fucking go for it, why not?

last time was on here the usual suspect said that MON's football was as bad as he'd seen
I don' t think you have to be a great team to escape this division as we've seen, Leeds the exception Plenty moaned after Rotherham but irrelevant this term how we play over results.

Bayern, you maintain that we're capable of more in terms of performance, but how do you see us doing that as I assume you won't be including Allen in any team you pick. We are where we are with all of our weaknesses. Are you suggesting Collins instead of Batth will make it all better?

Tomorrow should be very instructive. Yep, Swansea made us look a bit silly, this will be another good test and the chance to prove that was just a bad night in South Wales

Depends how you define ‘playing football’ Id say doing that thing where we put the ball in the net more than the opponent isn’t a bad definition

If the defence is as bad against Norwich, as it was on Saturday, we won't get back into the game like we did then.

Walk into dressing room. Instruct players to "Play some football". Walk out of dressing room. Win game. Piece of piss.

It is wank. I hate winning. If we beat Norwich tomorrow with a goal off a long ball, I'm tearing up my S/T. Shite, O'Neill.

We’ve definitely moved to a more direct game, and it’s working. I’m fine with that. Huddersfield showed what happens when journeymen defenders try to play tiki taka. We might one day hit that with Collins and Souttar but till then I don’t mind a bit of the old long ball.

You’ll probably need to snap it. Or at the very least, rub it in some dirt and throw it in a river. You probably won’t tear it though.

That's far removed from just hoof it Hyperbole can be a weakness It really isn’t. So, MON will have some Damascene experience where he suddenly becomes Pep? Not sure you believe what you’re saying yourself lad. I don’t see a team inhibited in how they play, just one that is limited in certain positions.

I don’t see a team inhibited in how they play, just one that is limited in certain positions. Who mentioned anything about Pep? We need to actually try to keep the ball and let them play a bit more. We’re not doing it at all atm. I think MON is the biggest stumbling block at present to this team getting promoted. No I don’t want him sacked and I think he’s been very good but do I want the front 3 given more freedom and him to get rid of the underdog mentality? Yes.
