If he becomes half as good as Hudson he will be a brilliant player....hes nowhere near that. The op said he reminded him of Hudson, as he did me, not that many players look to go forward and seem to glide along the pitch , no one is suggesting that he is as good as Alan, for those of us who were privileged to see Alan play, will know that Grealish has a long long way to get even close.

I’ve never really watched him and only stuck this on about 5 minutes ago and in that time he’s been awful 😂😂 Does he always hold on to the ball too long? Overall he had a good game, but I agree, he does hang onto the ball too long. As a result you often see players having to check runs and the swiftness of an attack falter. If he can sort that out, he could be a good player for England. However, as he has shown, he can also be a massive dick off the pitch. Those kind of individuals rarely deliver on their promise. Still very young though, so if he grows out of both, could be good.

I’m going to take a wild stab in the dark here. I’m trying to think of someone who absolutely must disagree with 99% of people. It’s a toughy. Fuck it I’m going to put my neck on the line here. I’m going with Bayernoatcake! What do I get if I guessed right? Bayern did say he only watched a few minutes of the game. I agree with him that as the second half went on Grealish did start to hold on to the ball too long (maybe a bit of over confidence). He is clearly at talented footballer and an expert at drawing fouls. Who Bayern. Sign him up

On a night when there is near universal praise for how he played, only you could step in and criticise him based on never really watching him and seeing 5 minutes of play. Because I turned it on and was immediately shouting at the telly at him I haven't watched him play for 18 months so I was just wondering if he usually does that because it was really poor.

The thing is, it's all relative.
Grealish has definitely got some attributes that other English players have not got. This kind of player doesn't really exist any more in the modern game.
In the day, when Hudson was playing there were other players of his ilk to compete with like Tony Currie.
And let's face it a lot of 70s players were not angels off the pitch.

He wasted some good opportunites by dallying on the ball and he needs to cut it out. That's all. Hoepfully his coaches will be telling him this too.

Still got a Cunt of a hairdo but he seems to be finally growing up and maturing. Always had the ability but he seems to be joining the dots now on a regular basis. For a pikey he’s good.

I'm convinced either he or his agent wants him to be the next Beckham. He needs that big-club, hi-profile move first. Then watch him go.

Still I guess 25 is still young enough to improve. What Bayernoatcake said about holding onto the ball for too long probably stems from playing for a team every week where he’s expected to produce the goods. I’m not comparing him to Ronaldo quality wise but you can see when he plays for Portugal he’s so far and away their best player he tends to hog the ball and do it himself🤷🏻♂️

Very Hudsonesque but Huddy would have found the right pass while Jack is still poncing around looking for it

Big club moves always find out how good these players really are. You can't just have a good game in 3 or 4 at a big club, you have to be on it every week. Most end up being like Ross Barkley at Chelsea, don't really cut it and end up dropping back to mid table. If he gets a big move will be interesting to see how he does.

I only really remember Hudson the second time around, so can't comment too much on that, but the Stoke player he does remind me of is Adrian Heath. From other teams, then yes Tony Currie and Duncan McKenzie spring to mind.
