It would be interesting to see (hypothetically) a top modern team versus a top 70s team in a two-legged tie, one played under today’s conditions and one in a mudbath and with a ref for whom GBH warrants nothing more than a brief talking-to. I think the modern team would still come out as comfortable aggregate winners - they’d demolish the oldies at home - but more than a little bruised and battered… Was a study done a couple of years ago, make what you will that a player from Engkland's 66 winning side would be able to last I think was 18 minutes of a current Prem game. I agree the pitches were harder to play on but the condition of players when I was a kid is enormous in comparison. Watching the old Euro Cup finals on a show recently, the difference in the pace, speed and movement in a game compared to the CL today is scary. You could argue players then were far more physical of course but both were of their day. I would say a top modern team today would be way too much for a top 70s team in general. Folk love to talk about old football and how great it was in comparison etc, same re grounds when in fact it wasn't. Imagine that Malmo side in the CL , would be crucified. Not saying players were better or worse but in terms of fitness and the speed of the game. Both of their day though as I said. Sometimes reflecting on muddy pitches and violent players as the good old days is hankering for lost youth or something.

Though he does do the odd daft thing he does come accross as a genuinely decent bloke. Well done Jack.

I met Jack Grealish in Ibiza last year he’s a really nice bloke even though we gave him a load of stick. My misses thinks most footballer are thick but loved him.

Top lad is Grealish.
Only have to see his interactions with lots of fans who lead really challenging lives to see his heart is in the right place.
Fairly decent at footie too which helps.

For me it's impossible to not like the bloke.
He is living the dream but is doing it in his natural way..he's not one of those robots who are media trained and stick to the rulebook. Stays true to himself.
Plus I find him brilliant to watch on the pitch. You've only got to watch when he gets the ball, the amount of players he drags out of position and the ease he gets past them without being that quick. It's brilliant.
