Ric means way more to me, and to our history IMO He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Ricardo....City's No 10 end of. Arnie - Technically gifted on his day & when he could be bothered. I personally never liked the fat cunt from day one, never took to him..Can't stand him. Greedy, egotistical, selfish, mardy etc etc etc.......... Fat? I've heard it all now

Imagine a midfield foward line up of ————fuller———- Arnie——bojan—-shaqiri ——-nzonzi—whelan—— Desperate for the grafter in glen with that much attack but jesus christ Walters in for Fuller or Bojan. Christ alive.

Been watching the Potters for 60+ years----Jimmy G was a diamond but he could never do the magic on his own like Ric. A better comparison would be TC. As for Arnie, he had talent BUT he only ever played for one club: Club Arnie!

Walters in for Fuller or Bojan. Christ alive. Why not? Every 5 games you’ll get more than 2 show up, Walters just adds bit of fight.

People are obviously still bitter about his departure, which is understandable I suppose but it's severely impacting their memory/opinion of the player.

Probably the best player I've seen live in a Stoke shirt, to me only Ric can compete. Also one of few players we have sold with a solid profit! I think Stoke City have more to thank Marko for than the other way round. Unfortunately I've only seen Hudson, Greenhoff, Chamberlain and Stein on TV/videos, so for me it's between Marko and Ric. My first game at The Brit (bet365) was in January 2003 by the way.

Technically a great player. Physically an incredible specimen.
But on the down side, he wasn’t Ric.
It’s not really fair to compare Arnie, or anyone, to Ric. You can only ever come up short when compared with perfection.
And before you say it, I know, Ric wasn’t perfect.
But even his imperfections were perfect.

Ric scored beautiful goals I'll remember for the rest of my life. Arnie was brilliant on his day, but his greed got the better of him.

Totally different personalities, and that’s where Ric beats Marko hands down.

Arnautovic only had half a season where he was consistently good for us - do most people forget that? I think he could've kept that up if he stayed as he'd seemed to have turned a corner playing-wise. On his day, he was one of the best players I've seen. He had an incredible first touch.

What was the win ratio when BMX played? I always thought it looked mint going forward when it clicked but was a bit like Keegan's Newcastle side in that it was wide open to counter. Always felt Walters graft in there helped the balance.

At the end of the day, if he had the consistency and work-rate of a SJW type then he would never have played for us. He could have played for one of the top European clubs IMO.

If they had wanted him he would have done Shaqiri was wanted by big clubs,in partly because he was half the price, but mainly because he was the better player.

i loved arnie on his day, but they were nowhere near often enough. His first touch was mint, his shooting not quite so mint. But hey, we all see different things in different players.
My vote for the best player in the Premier League would be Nzonzi. Again, amazing player, but just like arnie, not a great attitude at times.

I would vote Arnie our best player. Was a luxury at times and had bad days but could open the best teams up. His finishing his weak point but in terms of excitement he could produce great moments. The money's worth we got from SJW and Arnie was great business.

The thread is about Arnie and he was a great player and just pointing that out. Praising a player doesn't make another one no good in any sense. Both great players for us.
