I don’t think being rude to Angela is cool, no need to be a dick online towards her. What’s she meant to do, create some dramatic scene in the office yelling and screaming? It is what it is man.

I don't think anyone means to be rude to Angela, but it's a lot of anger coming forth about the situation. The SC or Angela don't look to have pressed the club on the issue any more. It's not acceptable after cutting wages of everybody from relegation and scrapping win bonuses. Whilst he sits on his money tree, counting the sheer amount of pennies he has. It's no wonder the players can't be arsed. And I find it now no wonder Gary Rowett almost walked on us if he saw the incompetence he was going to be dealing with. I wouldn't have blamed him in the slightest. The SC and fans have got to demand answers on how this wage rise was acceptable. Simple as that. We cannot take the answer given to Angela and leave it. She has a job to do, we understand that, but as chair she has to at least take point for us and chair our disgust at the situation.

The fans forum told us all we need to know about how the club is being run. I can’t say I’m surprised in the slightest, we need rid of him and JC but it’s impossible. He’ll probably get another pay rise next season when we go down for selling Butland and Allen to Burnley or whoever. It is what is

Plenty of things to criticise Scholes for but the accounts don't lie his total package went down £91k the year we were relegated in 31/5/18 from 31/5/17 and went back up in accounts to 31/5/19, the note refers to a money purchase pension scheme, looking into it he seems to get a variable degree of pension contributions based on the financial performance of the club against targets seems reasonable to pay a CEO this way, obviously whether he should still be employed is another issue...... "A money purchase plan or money purchase pension is a type of defined contribution retirement plan offered by some employers. ... Instead of a fixed percentage of salary, a profit-sharing employer could decide to share a fixed amount of profit and distribute it to employees each year as a percentage of salary." Profit? What profit? Well we did make a profit in 31/5/2017 but thats just an example, Scholes is probably paid against managing to the budget / board plan as costs are within his control to an extent, income less so as 95% is / was TV money.

I've not really read the thread tbh but who the hell is seriously saying it's fine Tony gets a pay rise? And don't say me, cause I quite clearly think he's an inept sack of shit.. just don't tell him I've said that.

Are you also going to fall out of love with using computers, buying things or searching for stuff on the internet? How about driving, banking or flying anywhere? Obviously you have no idea what senior executives in these industries earn. I have every idea what they earn! When I go on holiday I am very rarely disappointed, when I buy a car again rarely disappointed, when I buy something again rarely disappointed because I like it..... watching Stoke......last 3-4 seasons disappointed would be a massive understatement!!! And just for the record there are very few companies where the CEO and its staff earn money on the same level as footballers! However, If you go on holiday, you research places and look at reviews of hotels. If you buy a car, some are "stay-away" brands/models while others are super-reliable/luxury models. If you book your holiday at the Hotel Namaskar in New Delhi, don't expect the experience of Nayara Gardens in Costa Rica. In case you did not know, Stoke have won 1 "A" trophy in over 150 years of trying. We have been kicked out of the league twice and have spent roughly half our existence out of the top flight. No, we are not Namaskar, but neither are we Nayara! As for very few CEO's earning the same level of salaries as CEO's at football clubs, Take the top 20 football clubs and compare their CEO salaries to the CEO's of the top 20 companies - you're in for a shock if you think football clubs pay more. Players? They earn on a par with the best entertainers in any field. Hardly on topic or a fair comparison to compare them to your average employee.

Ah that’s fine then. 🤦♂️ Not sure that ties to the accounts? Emoluments of £856k and £2k pension contributions. Surely his pension is captured in the £2k line? Attachment Deleted

I notice the salary of the new Governor of the Bank of England is £495k per annum. Not too shabby but he is responsible for the nation's financial well being. It's just over half of Scholes pay. The PM doesn’t even get half of the £495k as a base salary. Just think.... run an average sized football club = £900k, run a country = <£200k. It’s madness. It's the same in most countries. US President earns $400,000 a year. For Example, PTC (software company) had EBITDA of $194M but paid their CEO $71.5M. That's per year. How much does Messi earn again?

I would have thought that £150k would be under the "Pension Contribution" heading. Not an auditor but it looks odd to me.

Are they not saying he received the 150k as a partial pay out from his pension, so it would have been included in previous contributions? It's the only logical way I can make sense of it.

Yeah that would make sense. Odd timing though? Thinking about it, if he had received it from his pension pot why would it show on the club's accounts? Must be an accountant on here somewhere.

TBH I'm a bit confused ... As has been stated why hasn't the £150k been shown under "Pension"?

Guess it's a Defined Benefit scheme and so it's probably disclosing his cashing out of it. Guess it has to show his total cash take in the Emoluments line. Even then not sure it makes sense to me, given that it isn't current period remuneration?

Yeah me too. But as mentioned about wouldn’t that come in the pension bit of that section? That would put him on 700k a year with a 20% pension. Decent work if you can get it.

Scholes always has a scapegoat ...a Lambert , a rowett , a NJ a MoN
He is 100 percent political scheming and zero percent substance
He's the Jeremy Corbyn of football
And when his day of Reckoning comes , then as with Corbyn , people will say , why on earth didn't we get rid of this idiot years ago

In any business by any matrix he has overseen sustained failure upon failure , to nit pick over the logic behind “ marginal salary adjustments is to miss the point , 1 He should have dismissed at each managerial failure , relegation and investment review 2 The Bare faced cheek to justify the unjustifiable is an indication of the culture of failure and lack of accountability he has created over his tenure This. Chants need to ring out from minute 1 Boxing Day. It’s now or never. UNITA/Block 19, I’m looking at you
