In the last couple of years he got some stick of the fans. I have no idea how any Stokie can slag Shawcy off but still, at least now we know it'll never happen again.

No point rushing him IMO, look what happened to Jack with reoccurring injuries.
We have plenty of CB's to choose from, granted none of them as good as Ryan - but I don't see the point in rushing him with all due respect to Wigan we should be able to deal with them without Ryan.
Give him a few more games in the u23's.

Starts one game against Wolves Casuals, let’s stick him in and disrupt a winning side, with a player who hasn’t played competitive football in months.... only on the oatcake

I agree with starting him on Saturday. Let's lob him up front with Greggers.

Our defence was shit against Barnsley.

Where is he off to? I assume you’re not referring to our side who are currently sat second from bottom and have been absolutely shocking all season? And were defensively poor in the last match against a team that just happened to be even worse than we are.

Quite a poignant coincidence that Ryan makes a successful comeback from a broken leg on the night that his old adversary Aaron Ramsey scores 2 goals and makes Man of the Match for Wales.
Congratulations to both players.

3 and a half months😮Absolutely incredible and superb dedication from a true Stoke City legend 👍 Daft question but does the fact he had a full pre season prior to getting injured speed up his likely return to 1st team duty? Does his pre season base fitness level remain in tact and mean match fitness will return quicker than had he had no pre season? I don't know, but doesn't seem so logically to me. Nevertheless I expect he will have kept generally fit with swimming and gym work and being a true professional I expect he will have kept trim. Brilliant news about his return. I thought he looked especially sharp during preseason and really putting a major effort to convince Jones to play him.

The old adage was it takes 3 weeks to become fit and only 1 week to lose fitness. So I don’t think him having a pre season means anything

I'd certainly consider him for the bench Saturday - Last thing we want to do is rush him back in straightaway. Give him 10 minutes if we are winning comfortably.
