Only a heartless bastard would take that interview away from him. In his own words, he's turned his family upside down to come here and chance his arm at a big job. This week he wouldn't have been able to turn the phone, computer, TV or radio on without someone sacking him and replacing him. Even the pre match press conference was full of people expressing their surprise at him still being here. None of us have been in that situation and none of us will either. He's been under intense pressure and that was him letting off steam. Some say be professional and ride it out. Way easier said than done when you've just spent a week getting sacked ten times over. Awww he gets paid hundreds of thousands pounds a year to be shit and he had to move for it. Poor him. Anxiety/stress doesn't care how much you get paid.

If he'd have won 3 on the bounce he may have just got away with that interview.
The irony is most of the fickle people who now want him to stay after one win will he the first to criticise the board if he loses another 3 on the bounce and we have no new manager lined up.

If you give stick when it’s due then you should also give credit It’s not being fickle, it’s being balanced The crap run started with one game Who’s to say a great run won’t do the same? You've hit the nail on the head, it's being balanced Jones interview was not balance in the slightest, he could do with some of your advice. Put yourself in his shoes for a minute. He has taken tremendous stick, and rightly so on many occasions. He is human so wouldn’t you want to give a bit back? Honestly? It doesn’t change the league, but did you really expect a different attitude?

I don't think he does for the money he now for the first time in his life might be on, or moving and committing to the job opportunity he felt honoured to take, unlike Mourinho at man utd who stayed in a hotel for two years. If he went and hughton or Moyes came in, I wouldn't be gutted in anyway, but I'm certainly not going to criticise him for having a wank during an interview. Klopp was nearly crying in his interview after the Leicester game when asked how salah was. I love seeing klopp lose his shit 😁

We all know the position we're in. But if the alternative is some of the fucking dinosaurs that have been reeled off this week (let's face it, Hughton ain't interested), then I'm still not convinced theres any point sacking him.
Yet again his players made stupid mistakes to concede, but this week we showed fight and resilience that has been completely missing.
This level of performance every week would see us comfortably safe by Christmas.

Pulis used to come out with fucking whoppers during post-match interviews, too, but we largely stood by him because of his general over-achievement. Weren't we once 'too attacking' at Villa when we played 5 at the back...? And, nonsense about Shotton as a right winger...?
All managers spout bollocks when stressed.
Nathan's biggest mistake today was to jump straight into an interview before he'd calmed down.
If Nathan's still here for the Fulham game it's because the board want him here. Not his fault and he deserves less of the vitriol IMO despite his occasional delusions...

He can say what he wants. He’s been under immense pressure and still is. He gives a fuck. That’s why the fans (and they have) stuck with him.

Probably makes him even more relieved and happy not just for himself, but for the owners who've given him more than enough time.

Cutting through all this nonsense, the basic question remains “can we find anyone better?”. In my opinion, very unlikely.

For some to be saying he's an arse hole and fruit loop, for me that's poor. For whatever you can say about games is one thing. The bloke came from luton, probably on fuck all money there compared to even championship managers. He was excited as fuck to have the chance to manage a big club like stoke he said. He got married in the summer and with the money he'll now be on and the opportunity he had he said he was going to live and breathe stoke city. Yes he's picked players and changed things from game to game, but I think most managers would do that to try get a win from somewhere. He's no rich been there and done it manager that couldn't be arsed. For him he was living the dream. Criticising him for being over excited in an interview after winning the way they did under massive pressure and scrutiny not just in stoke on trent, but in the media, is a massive thing for him. I think I can excuse him for letting it all out, as looking back at the posts when the second went in was no different on here. I think that's why he has been cut more slack with owners and fans, because they can see that for whatever anyone can throw at him for some on field decisions, no one can criticise him for effort and enthusiasm, and no doubt literally working every hour he's awake, and going on what he's been saying that's pretty much 24hrs a day. Whether he stays or goes, the bloke is no arsehole, tosser, fruit loop, or wanker.

The media report on everything on every manager and have quite right suggested he is out of his depth, not performing and quite frankly should have sacked for his record. Away fans are away fans.

In football you're only as good as your last game.
Great performance and result today.
The relief from Jones was tangible.
Let's just enjoy it while it lasts.
