Well,I'd rather that before taking a seat in the Directors box alongside PC tomorrow night having been introduced to the crowd as the new Manager, Tony gave a rousing dressing room speech to the team he was sending out in front of a crowd and TV audience stating that we were a Club that he had taken on an almighty journey against all odds at the time to the Premiership, an FA Cup final and Europe. I'd like him to be telling them to get out there and start his new revolution for all to see . Now I know there's many who don't share my vision but in my mind it'd be better than watching Nathan's shambolic attempt at trying to get some sort of a result! Oh well, wont happen so it's irrelevant!

Why do people think that it would now be nearly impossible for us to attract a top quality manager to Stoke.
Ok we are acknowledged to have a number of current issues that make the club a mess, but to a competent manager that should represent a real challenge that they can get their teeth into, learn from, and use to create or enhance their reputation. We still have 30 plus games to go this season and that's a lot of options to work with, especially for anyone coming in whose first brief will be to stabilise the club, with not much more expected.
The club is still owned by a local and very wealthy family whose public image and business profile now depends to a great extent on turning the club round again and after several backward steps putting the club and the city back on the up. The club still have a name and profile to match other so called big clubs like Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke own their training ground and the stadium, and on paper have an excellent and competitive playing squad with huge potential.
Why wouldn't any "Manager" worth the name want to chance their luck at Stoke, especially while we are still a Club in the Championship, which is allegedly the 3rd most popular league in Europe.

Although not a TP fan despite what he did for us would a sensible compromise be to appoint him until the end of the season with the sole aim of keeping us in this division?
The football could well be turgid but surely couldn’t be that much worse than the current dross served up.
TP would then depart with the appropriate bonus and we could then appoint a long term successor.
Should the CE position become vacant I am available.

Rather like the Brexit debate. The people of Stoke on Trent are absolutely split down the middle on this issue and taking up extreme positions.

Who are these top quality managers ? We thought we were getting a top quality manager in Jones, turns out we got the son of Mike Bassett

Surely TP would demand more than just the rest of this season ... I expect he'd be offered one of our famous five year contracts, even if he'd be happy with 2.

We aren't attractive because we've got a squad full of wasters and, despite having a family of billionaires owning us, we can't spend the money due to FFP.

Heard it all now, Jones refers to mounting pressure. Luton were a massive club.
