It turned to shit about two years before he left. just went a bit stale, with the duration he was here we were constantly progressing, sooner or later you are going to have a low point, it was inevitable at some point Keep digging sunshine.

The 14 signings he made over the course of his last two windows made his team worse in pretty much every department. When they played. Which few of them did. had we signed demba ba he may never have parted ways with scfc

Are you ignoring the other 3 then? What on his arbitrary list in which he speaks for all Stoke fans? Here’s the thing. Pulis did a magnificent job, he’s one of the best managers the club ever had, the good times were among the very best I’ve ever had. But he’s also a manager entirely set in his ways who can’t adapt or evolve and will never change and who ultimately lost the plot and was deservedly moved on when the time came. His recent forays suggest his powers are on the wane and the game has moved on. What I want us to do is try and be a bit forward thinking like some of our peers, but we just hardly ever are. This appointment was an attempt to change that and it would be a shame if its failure sent us cowering for a comfort blanket that long term could set us even further back and completely torpedo any hopes of building anything more lasting and long term. Yeah, I get what you’re saying. I aren’t convinced it’s the answer either, I’m still really hoping NJ can pull a rabbit out of the hat. It just frustrates the hell out of me when stoke fans treat TP with contempt & hate (not you). He’s the clubs most successful manager in my lifetime & the way people speak about him on here is incredible. I agreed that it was time for him to go when he did, because a lot of people, including me had become bored, which sounds incredibly ungrateful now. For me, he should have a statue built

I read something on pulis the other day how he likes studying great leaders of world history, taking great interest in what personal life routes made them great leaders. I assume he looks for certain quality when signing players Many of the greatest/infamous leaders have had only one testicle ! Margret Thatcher being one, but unfortunately this rules Mr Pulis out of this criteria has he has no testicles.

Swings and roundabouts. You could say that for any manager. Thing is though it goes down in history what TP achieved at scfc. In time Nobody will remember 3 x 9th place finishes, people will talk about promotion, consolidation against the odds, teams fearing a trip to stoke, the ground as loud as a jet plane taking off, teams getting battered off the park, Arsene Wenger's arsenal unable to deal with stoke at stoke, the iconic names, cup final & european football.

We need a Winston Churchill figure to get us out of this mess. Who would the country turn to in a crisis? TP for me.

Thing is though...a lot of people on this board want Pulis to come back (though I realise also a lot don't). However, I'm not aware of anyone who wants Hughes to come back.

One was sacked at the right time, the other wasn’t. That’s the big difference.
