FFS barring bringing Etebo in we have to start naming a settled side, our Nath chops and changes way too much for my liking. Do you think it’s wise, with 7 games in 21 days, not to rotate players?

But surely with so many new players to consider it will take a bit more time to decide on the first choice 11? I know what you mean, but surely just a couple of changes here and there is a better approach than the wholesale half a team changes Nath likes to make? Nobody can play themselves into form or build partnerships unless there’s a settled core? He made wholesale changes for a meaningless league cup game. Then, reverted to essentially the same team that played in the last league game with a few changes. I guess you’re thinking that he made wholesale changes for 2 games in a row?

Yes. It’s not just a question of rotation, Jones is also trying different players until he finds the right combination, which is the correct approach. He has had to wait for Etebo to get fit and Shawcross getting injured threw a spanner in the works. He also has to see how Plan A (diamond) and Plan B (three at the back) work out in game situations. All this talk about only have four wins is irrelevant because last season was a total right-off. We have hit the reset button, things look much better and we seem to moving in the right direction. We need to be patient and see how things turn out - what choice do we have. I enjoyed Saturday’s game better than I have enjoyed a match in quite a while. I am making the trip in September and I have tickets for the Forest match. I am really looking forward to it - We better well give them a good battering because all my relatives in the UK moved to Nottingham several years ago and i’ll never live it down if we don’t.

Woods will need to play every single game of the season.
The back 4 should be more settled
The rest of midfield and up top should be rotated more. So on that basis
Butland
Smith Batth Lindsay McClean
Woods
Etebo Clucas
Duffy
Gregory Campbell

Louis Moult is out for PNE - suspected knee ligament injury. Sounds like they're struggling in terms of attacking players being available.
Butland Edwards Lindsay Collins/Batth Ward/Clucas Woods Allen Etebo Duffy/Powell/Ince Gregory Hogan
Subs: Ince, Cousins, Campbell/Vokes

Butland Edwards Batth Lindsay McClean Woods Etebo Clucas Duffy Gregory Hogan SUBS - Davies, Collins, Smith, Allen, Powell, Ince, Campbell I could live with that selection, but if Powell or Ince are not fully fit, I'd put Verlinden on the bench for one of them. I don't know why he dropped off it. He played a handful of minutes vs Charlton and didn't do anything wrong, as far as I could see.

Would you care to list the changes to the starting line-up in our 2 consecutive league games between Charlton and Derby? And once the mammoth task of listing the wholesale changes, please define what wholesale means to you.

It'll either be 2-2 or 0-4. Either our luck will continue to deny us, or we'll finally pound the insides out of someone. I'd just as soon pile on PNE as anyone else.

Etebo needs to come in for someone but I doubt he will replace Allen. I'd like to see Edwards play as well but other than that I think stick with the team from the weekend.

I doubt we can stop Preston scoring based on past performances. However, if convert more changes we should win 1-3 or 2-4.
Hoping for the best, fearing worst.

And once the mammoth task of listing the wholesale changes, please define what wholesale means to you. Yes you are quite right, just one change in the last 2 league matches. But let’s not rewrite history, NJ has been criticised time and again for not having a settled side, 2 matches don’t undo this in my opinion. We need some consistency, in my most humble of opinions.

Judging by what I've read on here, we should win this one. Drop Allen!

No such thing this season the course is set for consolidation and that’s what we will settle for , the only must win game would be if we needed to win on the last day to survive

Let’s also not drag up last season where he was stuck with a terribly misfiring squad not of his choosing. This season is what NJ should be judged on. So far,: New players of his choice - Check Removing dead wood - Check Improving Performances - Check More attacking intent - Check More stability in selections - Check Better results - Fail But..... the signs are there that this season will be much better than last season.
