So if a manager that you had hired came to you and said.. "Can I have 18 million quid to sign a reserve centre half from Spurs who has hardly figured for them and only cost them 4 million quid please?" You'd have said... "Ah orate mate, you make the decisions on players". The owners quite simply have to take a massive proportion of the blame for what has happened to our club, they could have prevented all this from happening. I'd have said, is it in budget, yes, okay then there you go, the chairman HAS to trust his manager, has to, you'd be happy if he had a say in who we sign? Stoke try to sign player X but the chairman says he's crap so they pulled out, I can see the melt down now. Then you'd be a shit owner as well then. I'd be happy if our owners, or at worse the people they employ, had seen that Hughes was chasing after and signing a right load of shit for stupid money and handing out massively overly long contracts to these "players". They have overseen this shit show, it has happened on their watch, which makes them culpable. This is just things that have happened on the pitch, so add in everything else that goes on at our club and I've come to the conclusions while back that we would he better off without the useless fuckers.

3 games in a week is a perfect opportunity to rest a few players and give game time to those that need it. He can then pick his best 11 against Leeds. I just don’t get what what Jones is trying to do.

Amidst the Butland debate, it will be forgotten that your centre halves, particularly in the first half, were horrific.
Barkhuizen is fast but they looked incredibly slow. They continually hit it into touch. They let the ball bounce prior to the second goal.
Your performance data and general play between the boxes look decent but whilst you make incompetent mistakes at the back and carry these arrogant ex-Prem players who can’t concentrate or win their individual battles you won’t get anywhere.

I'd look to Lee Bowyer as the next manager - a real hard man on the pitch. He's worked wonders at Charlton on a very meagre budget.
I don't think that he would put up with any prima donnas at Stoke.

Just noticed this Jones' comment in the sentinel: "Since I’ve come here there’s been a hangover of players wanting to leave, players thinking they are proper players, players wanting to go and play in Europe, players thinking of their international careers. "There hasn’t been a group here together who wants to play and focus and win games for Stoke City, that’s a problem. "I thought we made big strides in that, but evidently we haven’t.” www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-preston-jones-butland-3236855

I think he works well for charlton as he has a lot of history there, came up through the charlton youth ranks maybe a bit different proposition at this early stage elsewhere ....

He also bought 11 players. So he’s either a liar or an idiot.

Having said that, Jones has nothing to lose now, because he is rapidly heading towards the waste chute.

Basically just said on national tv he’s going to drop Butland then complained about the media circus around Jack. Said there is nothing wrong with his tactics and we aren’t getting carved open. Said we were a disjointed group of players when he arrived yet again airing out dirty laundry - on fucking national tv. Taking no blame himself! Me me fucking me. I don’t think I’ve ever been this angry at a Stoke manager before. Full fucking Rowett that interview was. Also this is the team Jones has assembled himself! Butland, Edwards, McClean, Allen, Ince, Woods, Clucas, that's 7 who all started last night were already here when Jones arrived

We're certainly creating enough chances, albeit we're peppering the stand behind the goal rather than the net.
But it feels like it wouldn't matter if we scored 10, we'd somehow contrive to gift the opposition 11 goals.
As I work in Leeds, I'm considering going on sick for a month as I can't bear the thought of what will happen in the next 7 days.

I'm not happy with him, prepared to give a bit more time as long as he grows some balls and drops the players who are causing the problems
