The quote below is from football manager with the surname Jones. Can you guess his first name? "I feel like we deserved something from the game but we can't keep repeating that story. "We need to win a game of football and that's where we are. We are together, the whole group, the staff, the players and we will get there. "If playing in the Championship was easy, everybody would be doing it and they're not. "We are there technically, tactically, physically and it's just that last mental step. Once we win a game of football in the Championship we will be absolutely fine." Dave?

Nath sees the Championship as a managerial aspiration that he has achieved, conversely after 10 years in the Prem the fans see it as somewhere we have royally screwed up to end up in and don't understand why we can't escape. We've come at this thing from opposite directions. It can't be helped, people are simply the sum of their experiences.

He should however perhaps have realised this and appreciated it and thought about how it is coming across. If it comes across to the fans then I imagine it must also to the players and it's not great really is it.

Yep! Spooky how the same words could have come from the bloke managing the team one place below Luton in the league!

I think swapping Smith for Edwards, Allen for Etebo and Ince for Powell is looking our strongest line up at the moment.
Solid 2-0 win with that lot.

Thanks for the update Nathan. You might think he actually is Nathan at 6.45pm tonight when you see the starting XI. Edwards for Smith is the only change from Saturday. Etebo starts tonight 100%

I'd take a grubby, boring one nil tonight just for morale but I think if we could convert half our chances we'll be fine

Does he play his best XI, if he even knows it, tonight, or rest a few ahead of the huge game against Leeds at the weekend? Both games are three points for a win, so why prioritise one over the other (although beating Leeds will lay down a marker for the season ahead), and there is a suggestion that another loss will heap pressure on the manager and the team,, whereas going into the Leeds game on the back of a win will do wonders for morale. Having said that, many of our players are interchangeable without any noticeable increase/reduction in quality, so a bit of rotation will not do us that much harm.
For me, Jones should go for 3 CBs tonight and play a bit more circumspect - Edwards, Collins, CCV, Cousins, Etebo and Vokes for Smith, Batth, Woods, Clucas, Hogan and Gregory, so:
Butland
Collins Carter Vickers Lindsay
Edwards Allen Cousins Etebo McClean
Ince
Vokes

Etebo starts tonight 100% 100%? We shall see. Nah 80% - he'll leave his left leg on the bench just in case.

3-1 Stoke with Gallagher scoring for them! Did he bite Joe Allen last year? Or have I just made that up?

Our draw aginst derby doesn’t look as impressive as it did after they lost against Bristol last night, does it ?
Hoping for a 1-2 win.

Who was impressed by the draw? The performance had a lot of merit but the result was disappointing. I haven't read a report, but Bristol City could have nicked it and had bugger all possession. I'm off to read about it now!!
I'm back...Bristol City had 33% possession, Derby controlled large periods of the game, had 18 shots (only 4 on target) but lost because the opposition scored one more goal than them and defended what they had! Simple really...

I meant they could have nicked the result at Derby...and then I read the report, found out they kind of did and reported back!

By the end of the match we should know a little about, whether spending millions and millions and millions etc etc etc on replacing Louis moult and Paul Gallagher, with berahino /bojan / Diouf / Jesse / vokes etc etc, was money well spent, or a total waste of time.
