It’s not so much a question of insults, I’m genuinely curious to know if you’ve really seen nothing in the last couple of games to make you think things might actually turn out ok? To be brutaly honest,,, During matches yes but only the last 2 ..... at the final whistle No not at all ,,, Not showing the correct mentality to push on and win games can harm you more than just being shit..... I don’t think anything harms you more than ‘just being shit’ to be honest. It’s much easier to cure the first than the second.

We are improving though, aren't we? We are poor defensively but we've struggled to create chances for a long time and now we are creating them. We look fitter and work harder than we have done for a while and the players look like they're buying into Jones' ethos. There's a lot of twists and turns left but I just don't buy the doom and gloom. We are poor defensively, both centre backs yesterday are his signings. We are disorganised in midfield, he didn't address that in the summer. We have had about as easy a start as we could have hoped for, and we are bottom. Everyone who has got there hopes up because we had some more shots than usual is in for yet more disappointment over the next week Wobbling Jellyleg syndrome is a terrible affliction, you have my sympathy. Equally, stubborn conviction that all will be well, at some point in time, may appear deluded. Forgive me for believing, and hoping, that the next 3 results will confirm your condition - and that many of us are not about to be disappointed.

Again, I’ll have a bash at ‘context’. Previously, we weren’t playing well. Previously we weren’t creating anything. Previously we had a team of wheezing sloths . All of those things are being addressed. That’s why there’s some positivity around. Nobody plays well for long without getting a reward. If we keep that up, and it’s not certain that we will, we’ll get where we want to be in the end. There are obviously still problems but compared to where we were two weeks ago, six months ago, 12 months ago, there has been an improvement. Would people obviously have preferred to see us still riven with all of the same problems, get battered for 90 minutes and scrape an unconvincing 1-0 win off our only shot on target? That would’ve told us nothing, just like Rowett’s ‘unbeaten run’ of mostly draws and late era Hughes spawning the odd win to keep himself in a job while the rot continued to set in. Already after three games we're having over 20% more goal attempts inside the 18 yard box compared to last season, and around 10-15% less pot shots from outside the box. It points to a more mobile team that is getting into the opponent's area more times than enough. We're only second behind Brentford for the 18 yard box stat. The goals conceded stat is ridiculous. An average of 6 shots conceded per game, 7 goals conceded. Millwall concede 12 shots per game and have conceded just 1 goal. Luton conceded 19 shots per game, over three times ours, and have shipped the same amount of goals - 7. It can't go on like this, the shot stat alone tells us how strong our structure is defensively and the goals against will surely drop the longer this goes on. I am bloody certain that a sea-change is imminent. Full stop. Excuse me, a moment, whilst I take my anti-delusion capsules.

for me just as much as anyone who thinks were ok after 4 in 25...Stupid just supid... This is a new season and we are showing obvious signs of significant improvement. We've played 3 league games, there were signs of improvement during Rowett's reign which came to nothing in the end. The argument works both ways but the top and bottom is we're shipping too many goals and not scoring enough and that hasn't changed in over 2 years.

So I take it everyone who's shitting themselves think Charlton are getting promoted to the Premier League then?... It's not a question of shitting yourself, once again the season is 3 games in but no one seems to have told us, so we find ourselves in catch up mode. It's not what any of us wanted. Didn't your mother ever tell you that you can't always have what you want?

It's hard to understand why we're conceding so many when we're top of the league for fewest chances conceded, at 6.3 per game. Next is Leeds with 8.3 and QPR third with 9. Their worst game was 12 conceded - on the opening day against us! It really does feel like everything is just going in past us at the moment. We might not be conceding many shots but we are conceding a lot of goals despite coming under zero pressure because the centre backs have been awful. For derby's first goal the centre back should be much closer to Waghorn. When waghorn went through and could have won it, earlier in the move the centre back was nowhere near him so he had all the time to look up and give a one touch lay off. Our centre backs have been really poor. Our defending was really weak and passive generally against Derby. I'm glad we look a bit more purposeful attacking wise bit there aren't enough signs jones is going to turn it around. I think he botched that transfer window and we'll pay for that all season

Everyone who has got there hopes up because we had some more shots than usual is in for yet more disappointment over the next week Sorry, that's bollocks, it isn't 'more shots' than usual and you're deliberately misrepresenting it as such. We aren't simply 'having more shots' and you know it. We're getting into better positions, we're creating overloads and space, we're improving at set pieces. You can't dismiss that when we've been so singularly dreadful at creating chances for such a long time. There are no guarantees but I don't see why you're so bent at brushing any positives under the carpet while focusing only on the negatives? We created 4 clear chances on saturday. Derby created two. We didn't look like winning a game after they had equalised, in fact we should have lost. I'm not convinced. There are key issues in the team, mainly relating to midfield, that just haven't been addressed. We have had an easy start to be honest, and we are bottom. I'll start feeling positive about this team when they display some signs of knowing how to win a football match.

You don't like him. We get it. Me? I've never liked a stoke manager more.apart from Lou. I backed him to the hilt last season when idiots started laying into him. What he's done in the summer transfer left me massively disappointed. I find him very easy to like. But there is a huge difference between what he says about hard work and planning, and the awful game management and naivety seen on and off the pitch in his transfer dealings this summer. Here we are, bottom of the league. With two tough games coming up. He's had all the time in the world, all the goodwill and he's messing it up.

I'll start feeling positive about this team when they display some signs of knowing how to win a football match. We created about six. We regularly got into good positions. We played some good stuff. And again, compare it to how it’s been. Yes there are issues but you’re intent on focusing on them and falling over yourself to downplay the other. Not sure it’s right to talk of ‘easy starts’ in this league, where anyone can beat anyone.
