Early days but apart from different faces little else seems to have changed Still no pace, defenders losing concentration in the box, no decent striker, can’t string more than two passes together and still can’t score a bloody penalty

I really don't get the Powell signing.
Injury prone, no pace, no real skill or vision and his free kick was wank.

It's our midfield. It's non-existent.

Leicester are a very good side but it was obvious that we still have a lot of issues that need addressing all over the park.
Observations from me
- We do not look a goal threat and have 0 pace up front. We have to break the bank to get Gale or at least look at starting Campbell (even if he lasts only 60 mins). Afobe just doesn't look good enough.
- McClean isn't a LB. Looked OK going forward but positionally was all over the place.
- Midfield. Thought Cousins looked OK but there was no creativity from Clucas or Allen who gave the ball away time and time again.
At least we've got Etebo coming back which will strengthen us but still think we're short of a striker, DM and LB. No issues with McClean as a person but he isn't a LB. Felt for Ryan but could this be the chance that Collins needs. Please NJ have the gut to play him and not Indi next week.

Same problems? We were much better. McClean did well at fullback, and considering the reception Coussins got on here I also thought he did well. It's obvious we need to pick some random person out of the crowd to take the penalties. Considering it was a strong Leicester side I thought we did pretty well. No need for doom and gloom.

I watched it online, if people can't see an improvement from last season than they need some attention, we won't play many teams of the all round quality of Leicester week in and week out and at times we played with a real zip. Yes certainly there are areas we can improve on, but generally I was very encouraged.

It's our midfield. It's non-existent. Etebo will make a difference He will indeed without doubt, I have no doubt that Afobe and Vokes will squander whatever he presents for them.

I thought Powell looked really good to be honest. Clucas was okay, as was Cousins. Allen was still completely absent defensively and aside from 2 excellent passes his overall game was awful. Afobe doesn't look great unless he's running behind. Vokes was decent at holding up. I agree with McClean at left back, he wasn't great for me, but he needed help from Allen and didn't get it.
Our pressing is well timed and against championship quality will work wonders. People forget that is the best team outside the top 7, playing their best XI besides maybe Barnes, and we gave them a bloody good game.
Onwards and upwards.

The issue in front of goal is still the same we need a striker who can score goals!

The issue in front of goal is still the same we need a striker who can score goals! There was only one player in the entire starting XI today who looked capable of giving them any service.

So much for Jones's revolution. The starting line-up wasn't much different to last season's team. A new right back we probably didn't need a cdm on a freeby because Jones knows him Powell as creator general and a bizarre choice for lwb. People wonder why it looks the same as last season that's because it is no creativity from the flanks or midfield and the same players up front who played in so many 0-0 games. I suppose the 0nly blessing is that the manager has spent feck all.
