£15 quid is steep for a friendly, but I'm sure that will have been done to death on another thread.

£15 quid is steep for a friendly, but I'm sure that will have been done to death on another thread. The price is very expensive mate but to stop sales ONE HOUR before a friendly is absolute mind blowing I haven’t got a ticket yet as I’m undecided and potentially was just going to turn up and get a ticket but I’m not going to go before 2pm as it’s well out of the way of where I want to be pre match Utter bollocks

Only thing I can think of potentially.

I read it as that being the time you have to buy tickets and no more. Why announce that and a cash turnstile separately?

Seems a bizarre decision, surely they aren't worried about crowd trouble at some nothing friendly?
Probably a good thing, spares me seeing us lose!

It was only a few months ago they announced that season ticket sales were significantly down. Since then we've had a ridiculous booking fee placed on matchday tickets and now silly little issues like this for a friendly. Given where we are in our recovery it would have been sensible to charge a fiver for adults and a kid goes free to try and pack out the stadium. I'm sure they would have got enough back in food and drink sales. I guess that's why i'm not a business man and just an idiot on a forum!

Absolutely zero logical thinking from the club. Just cannot understand the reasoning here and as mentioned already will further reduce ticket sales.

Some people just have to find something to moan about. Whatever the club do, it’s just not good enough for some folk. Anyone wanting to go to this game can either, purchase a ticket online, by telephoning the ticket office directly, or by getting to the ground by 2.00pm. It’s not difficult is it? Get there for 1.45, buy your ticket and go have a beer. I’m waiting for the day to come when we have ‘ The grass is too green’ moan. Get a grip of yourselves, otherwise , it’s going to be a very long season for some.

Firstly we don't know it's the club's decision, maybe on advice.
Also because is a friendly and say a 1000 possible Leicester fans doesn't prevent the possibility of potential trouble. A nice day, fans drinking all day but hey it's a friendly and I will behave better.
You can still order tickets online. as usual someone looking for a angle to complain

Cash turnstile gets more numbers in. It's as simple as that. To stop sales at 2pm is silly thinking. And it's just easier.
I've still not decided if I'm going or not, and I'd have probably made my decision on the day. But I'm certainly not rushing around to be within their arbitrary limit of when I can arrive or not when I have shit to do earlier in the day.
And £15? Christ it's only a friendly. Should be £5 Adults and Kids go free, pack the stadium out a bit more.

Is there going to be a huge, wildly uncontrollable crowd to manage on the day? Not remotely. It’s a ridiculous decision, as has been mentioned, it wouldn’t have even happened for a league game 90% of the time, why should it apply here in these circumstances?

We have a manager in his first full season, with loads of new signings and he's desperate to try and generate a good atmosphere amongst the supporters. What better way to try and fill the stadium on the last Saturday before the season starts? Kids go free, kids for a quid, free for Season ticket holders... whatever. Derby did it against us a few Pre Seasons ago. They let all Season ticket holders in for nothing and the ground was pretty much full. It was a good game and a great atmosphere. The Stoke end was packed out and they reciprocated nicely. Just imagine the kind of start to the season we could potentially have with a good performance against Leicester with a full stadium? It isn't moaning for moaning's sake, it's looking at what the club aren't doing and commenting in sheer frustration. ...and yes, they deserve all the praise in the world for the free transport and frozen season ticket prices.
