Fuck me you couldn't make it up. Heralded as the latest Alan Shearer after 2 vs Wrexham and now the worst striker in history after having a decent game but missing a pen against a top 8 PL team He wasn't decent and the oppositions league position is irrelevant when taking a penalty....he looks like a donkey, slow, lumbering,no skill which would be overlooked if he was a predatory finisher Yeah, he took a bad penalty, great. He was good today, kept the ball well and linked up play against a very good defence for the first 70 mins until the team seemed to tire. Calm the fuck down, it's a pre season friendly.

Is it me or is he a much shitter version of Crouch? He wins headers but they go to nobody, his hold up play is wank for someone that size, and he’s fucking useless from the spot Fuck me you couldn't make it up. Heralded as the latest Alan Shearer after 2 vs Wrexham and now the worst striker in history after having a decent game but missing a pen against a top 8 PL team When did I herald him? I think he’s been bang average from the moment we signed him

One word for vokes, garbage. He'll never get 20 goals in a season for us as long as I have a hole in my arse! It won't be down to him if he doesn't given he's done well at this level at other clubs...

Now after one loss against the best side outside the top 7, the prevailing thought is that our strikers won't score 10 between them.

The better teams in the league will have a lot more movement about them up fron than we showed today , Vokes can be ok in a side playing long and sending lots of crosses in but this system looks narrow to me so not sure how well it will work . Afobe looked to be sharper than last season and Powell is a talent but it looked slow still and mostly predictable in terms of attacking play . Would like to have seen verlinden and gregory on for last 20 today .

I really thought we did more than OK today and is a bit surprised by all the negativity on this board. Leicester are certainly a top 8th if not a potential top 6 team this season, and a lot of people are disappointed about our performance this afternoon! Get real folks, we are a Championship team after all! I thought there were a lot of encouraging signs to be honest!

The problem with a lot of fans is they still think we are a top ten Premier League club. We aren't. The players we came down with weren't as good as we thought and we've since watered the squad down with Championship players of varying quality. A lot of people still have their heads stuck in the clouds which was made worse by Rowett's stupid trolley dash at the pick and mix last summer. Many can't or won't admit it but we are light years behind Leicester even if they were a third division club in our first season in the Premier League just over ten years ago. There were good elements to our play today and bad elements to our play - about par for the course when a Championship side play a Premier League side.

Are you happy that we have covered all the areas we were weak in last season ?, I have massive reservations about the diamond system with the players we have available to perform as required in key positions especially the full backs, we lack guile and pace which will make it difficult to breakdown stubborn defences and leave us vulnerable on both flanks on today's showing.

We have got rid of some bad eggs and replaced them with, well, just eggs. A fast attacking football side we are not. Still as far away from that as we were 9 months ago.

It won't be down to him if he doesn't given he's done well at this level at other clubs... How many times has he scored 20 a season ? Once, six years ago - 21 for Burnley in promotion season. Rarely in double figures. If he gets the right service, he might get 10, maybe 12.

I think with Etebo, Clucas and Allen we should be doing more than OK in the Championship. I also thought Coussins did reasonably well today, but competition from Ndiaye will just do him good. Woods has also been decent in the friendlies, but I question his pace and strength against the better teams in our division though. Powell is just class at this level and I'd say the same about Ince even though I know a lot of people disagree with me. After today I actually is starting to believe McClean could do the job for us at left wing back too, but he needs to get rid of the kind of naive mistake for their second. Afobe was better than expected and both him and Vokes looked fitter and sharper than last season. In adition we have TY for the last half an hour, who is a real predator too! All in all I think it looks quite rosy now and will be very disappointed if don't make it to the playoffs at least!

I always said I would judge Jones on this season after I personally counted last season as a free hit as he assessed the squad. My judging starts next week. I'm impressed with how fit he has got the squad after the failings in that department of Hughes, Lambert and Rowett. I will be an intrigued watcher of how his potentially awesome system develops over the coming season. My original point still stands in that I think a lot of fans are still in a daze about what happened a few years ago. I appreciate it's hard to knock off, but we really are in the shadows of the likes of Leicester and massively so. I don't think we were at times on the pitch today, whereas at others today it was evident. Certainly nothing to warrant the wrist wringing we are seeing here in July!

Whether Jones is the right man for the job remains very much to be seen but we've got to give it some time. I don't think we can draw too many conclusions from a pre-season friendly against opposition far superior to us. We'll have a gauge of how we will far after the opening 3 or 4 games of the season. Losing Ryan is a huge blow. If Jack goes, I err on the side of fearing the worst rather than hoping for better.
