I know that I keep repeating myself, but NJ will turn Stoke City around. The shit hand he has been dealt will not get much better until next season. He knows exactly what needs to be done and he can't do any of the things required until this season has ended. I'm sure he is as frustrated as anyone, we just have to grin and bear the last handful of games. Then he can get down to business, everyone will see a major improvement in our fortunes under NJ next season. It is time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and give the manager our full support, self pity is not an attractive trait. Show some balls and we will be rewarded.
I have no doubt NJ is a capable coach , who with a sound transfer team behind him, would do a decent job .
All my concerns are of the transfer team behind him
talking about his job ( at the time ) Bill Clinton once said , ' you'd be amazed how little power you have, as president of the United States ' , and he was only half joking !
I am guessing Paul Lambert , Gary Rowett and Nathan Jones , could sympathise with Mr Clinton ... something along the lies of ... you try running a football club recruiting the likes of berahino , jesse, wimmer , matina, Williams etc

The recruitment team do not decide on the players, they do not coach the players and they do not integrate the players into a successful team. The manager and his coaches do that. That long list of failed transfers is down to the manager - not the recruitment team. You can blame the recruitment team for crap contracts - that's fair enough. The other thing is that neither the manager nor the recruitment team are in complete control of the transfer process. We can't simply snap our fingers and get who we want - the decision as to who comes here is ultimately down to the players. This need to blame someone for everything that goes wrong - either the manager, recruitment team or owners - is a bit nuts. Shit happens - which is what Clinton realised.

Please can they stop they are rather embarrassing. I’ll give you 5 reasons why he’s the man for the job. 1) he’s helped to potentially get Luton to the championship. 2) he’s a young hungry manager, he’s going to make mistakes it’s how he bounces back from them. 3) the side he took over is an absolute shambles and a player he brought in has made a massive difference and that player being batth 4)the amount of youth he involves, since he took over he has played, Campbell,Edwards,Collins,Verlinden, Souttar and Sorensen, name a manager who we have had that’s trusted youth that much. 5)he’s very passionate and has a good relationship with fans. Get off his back and believe in the process if not fuck off. Agree with all of this except for the last 4 words, we are all entitled to our opinions and allowed to disagree.

Once again there is little appreciation on here that football is a team game.
There are many factors that go together to create a team, which are too numerous to go into here. The most important is the will of the players to play together which can sometimes be created simply by changing the team leader which in the case of our football is the "manager" who calls the shots, not the captain. That is why so often the "new manager bounce" phenomenon occurs.
But genuine long term successful team work takes a long time to build up for it to be sustained. How many times does the new manager bounce fizzle out after a while?
There has to be the quality among the players, the right blend of player, the will to play together (that old fashioned word camaraderie), and that build up of unconscious understanding between players of each others game.
I am sure the likes of Ince, Berahino, Imbula, McClean, and I suspect others are not "team players". A team can accommodate some none team players, but it takes the rest of the team to accept that. Arni was a case in point, Shaq another, but they have to be making an exceptional contribution to the team by their talent to be "accepted" and tolerated.
I think we have to be patient and let Jones build his own team of players. That virtually means wholesale change as Rowett's signings were very poor and the earlier managers players were either disastrous signings, or are now getting well past their best.
I smelt a rat with Rowett after a few months and events proved me right. I am quite confident Jones has the commitment and ability to succeed at a higher level than he has worked at before, but only time will tell. We need to stick with him until we are quite a few games into the next season and see how the team is performing with Jones' signings.
I have been impressed by the way Jones has set about his task at Stoke, despite the poor results. He tried his favoured system, it did not work, so he changed system. He has given lots of players plenty of opportunity to prove themselves, (the exception for me being Bojan), he has been bold in removing players (possibly reckless in removing Pieters), he has given youth a chance, and he has got some players playing better than they were under Rowett. I am sure he has planted good seeds, and the recent good run has shown the green shoots of promise. I am sure the flowers will soon emerge with a convincing win or two before the season is out, and next season we will see the fruits of everything he has been doing.

Harsh to dump McClean in there, there’s no indication to suggest he’s not a team player. He’s a viciously average one but he seems popular enough with his team mates and manager.

Fair comment Toxic, I did hesitate about adding his name and you are right to point out that he does celebrate with his team mates. On the down side his politics is so divisive, it is bound to rile some players as it does many fans, and whilst he is an ever present at the clubs he plays for, he doesn't stay long before moving on. I think Jones plays him regularly because he gives 110% effort and Jones does not have a lot of choice for giving width to the team. "Average" is flattering in my book. I know he occasionally scores and assists, but then he plays so many hours he is bound to strike right a few times; even a broken clock is right twice a day. Why is it I thing of a carthorse when he gets the ball?!

i am entitled to my opinion like everybody else on this site.just because I say something you don't agree with doesn't make me a prick. It does a little bit though doesn't it. You have quite plainly started this thread to feed your need for attention, whether that be negative or positive (well done you succeeded). Yes we are all entitled to an opinion (as painful as that entitlement becomes) but you really have no idea whether he is up for it or not. And neither have I or anyone else on here for that matter. I just hope he is and I am willing him to succeed as I am hopeful we can agree on one thing and that is that we want SCFC to be successful. The club needs positivity and you can actually play a small but significant part. Try taking a slightly more positive outlook on life, you might be surprised how much better it makes you feel.

They seem ok with him, there’s been nothing to suggest he’s anything other than ‘one of the lads’ everywhere he’s been and they seem to respect his work rate.

His interview just was awful. If we'd of kept a clean sheet like we have been doing we'd of won the game.
No shit Sherlock. Ref and linesman to blame.
He also firstly said we were great first half but then contradicted himself straight away saying we didn't get going until we scored.
Dreadful interview, apart from not slagging the fans off he is no upgrade on Rowett
