Our best midfielder. We'll be lucky to have him next season. Joe Allen being our best midfielder is the best explanation i've heard yet for why we have been struggling so badly for the last 2 years.

FFS - we've had a good convincing win today but still there's several threads completely eviscerating a number of our players - enjoy the win and give it a rest. Allen had a good game today as did most of the team and I hope he's here for many seasons to come

Allen, when removed from attacking responsibilities is a much much better player than the one we try to shoehorn into a jack of all trades. He picked up the danger so well today and dishes it off for Clucas (who was excellent today) and Etebo whilst he sat and picked off Forest’s passing. He should be used in this position and this position only. For the first time in literal years today, our midfield looked extremely balanced.

I sit in the stands and watch that guy break up play so much ; fair enough he's no Pirlo .. but the shite he gets on here is unreal.

Nailed on for Leicester next season Should get a good fee for him If he wants to go, best of luck to him. If everyone had the work rate and attitude of Joe Allen we would still be in the premier league. Certainly one of the good eggs.

Do you not think he had a good game today? Genuinely, no. Most passes, most ball recoveries, most tackles of anyone on the pitch. Actually disciplined and offered some protection for once. What’s not to like?

Yeah, stats do tell some truths, I saw something recently which showed he had made the most successful tackles in the league. That and the fact he's been a Wales international for a long time should mean I feel happy he's in the team, but I don't. I find his style of play generally depressing for a centre midfielder. His passing range is short, slow tempo and never clinical. He offers very little going forward and whilst comfortable on the ball he tends to hold on to the ball for too long before passing it off to someone who then has less time on the ball if he'd released earlier. He's not fast enough to escape players and physically not big enough to protect the backline by winning headers. His technique and energy levels are very good, but he's just not my type of midfielder, but understand others may like him.

Fair play to him
Genuinely looks unhappy to be here though

Our best midfielder. We'll be lucky to have him next season. Had a decent game yesterday, should have been man of the match, however, part of the reason we went down and part of the reason we are where we are now. If he's not here next season so be it, I won't lose a great deal of sleep over it.

If he plays like he does for Wales he is quality.
But it has been absolutely shit since he signed and it would be best for all concerned if we could get our money back for him this summer

I can accept as a criticism of his general play, but yesterday that really didn’t apply. He’d toned his headless chicken act right down, sat deeper and it really wasn’t his job to offer anything creatively as he was playing as a holding role. He just needed to recycle the ball quickly and get us moving from deep and I thought he did that pretty impeccably.
