They were on about him being like Wilko on the wireless but he reminds me more of Griff when he started with us. Especially with his goal today, Griff used to cut inside and flash them in across the area like that.
Also let’s be honest he’s miles better than Wilko

Fucking mint today.

Tom Edwards is a lesson to those currently knifing Jones from all angles.
He came into the team with a big reputation from the young sides. Had a baptism of fire in a sea of junk that was going on around him at the time. He had some bright games, some average games and some poor games. Predictably, some wrote him off almost instantly.
Fast forward 12 months, a bit of time and patience and we have a very fine full back in development.
Well done to those that could see it and gave him time, less said about the impatient/unknowledgeable one's the better.
The bigger issue and thankfully he is no longer here, but christ Rowett, why did you spend our clubs money loaning a 29 year old from Everton that couldn't lace his boots?

Hear, hear and bloody hear! Well said. Let's hope we are reflecting about our manager in the same way twelve months from now. Oh wait.... some have already completely written him off too!

Last paragraph. Imagine how good Edwards would be if Jones was heat in the summer.

True story...
Bill shankley sends bob paisley to watch Kevin keegan play for Scunthorpe on the basis, he must make a final decision to sign him or not, there and then, otherwise he will be a Leeds player by the end of the week.
Paisley rings shankley at half time... We have to sign him, the lad is really good
Shankley: why? What's so good about him?
Paisley: no one thing. But every time I see him, he plays better than the last time
Shankley: that's exactly what I wanted to hear
You have to give Edwards credit, he has made steady progress. He's improving, week in week out. The holy grail for any young player

It's criminal the way Rowett messed him about in preference for Martina!!!

Had a nightmare against Swansea and arguably out of position for their first goal today. Positives are starting to outweigh the negatives now which is good considering his age. His crossing is very very good and took his goal very well today. Hope he can iron out the defensive frailties as it will save us money and fill 1/4 of our defence and give us the attacking threat jones’ system demands.

It's criminal the way Rowett messed him about in preference for Martina!!! And the way Lambert did the same in preference for Bauer. And Hughes for Johnson. All it would have was a little faith in the lad and the courage to keep picking him, even if he made mistakes.

He has started to win headers now too I don't think so, but he is possibly the player that has benefitted the most from Jones' coaching, and for having the first of four managers showing him faith, and encouragement to try and win headers too.

Do people understand the difference between criticising someone ( when they probably do deserve criticism) and “writing someone off”. It seems to me if you come on here and criticise someone’s performance then you get automatically lumped into the category of those who have written someone off, either that or you have got an “agenda”, one of the other most overused cliches on here.

Noticed alot yesterday, particularly in the first half when Norwich were shooting at the boothen (where I was sat) whenever they attacked down Edward's side it was Batth who would go out and square up to the attacker and Edward's would drop in centrally to fill the gap, I don't know if this was in acknowledgement of Edward's defensive frailties or part of a deeper tactical decision made by the manager or just something that kept happening on spur of the moment though.
Overall a great performance from the lad, hopefully the injury isn't serious, more please :-)

Edwards for me should be Right side of midfield or Wing back with 3 centre half's. Great strike good crosses tackling lacks a fair bit and defensive positional sense.

It needs sorting, if he’s RB then that’s where he should be during the opposition attacks, to counter pacy wingers
