Jones and Paul Hart we really have found our level................................... I don't know about that but We do need some results quick smart. I'm not sure what the opposite of a new manager bounce is but that's what was served up at Brentford followed by the simply astonishing Shrewsbury meltdown. The blame for those debacles can be levelled solely at the doors of the pathetic, spineless charlatans that we call our players. Jack the Ripper spent less time hiding in the shadows than these losers.

Probably but we are still in brand new shiny manager mode, everyone says he should be given 2 to 3 years to sort this mess out, but that needs to be tempered with some reality, Lambert and Rowett were given about 6 weeks before most folks concluded they didn't know their arse from their elbow!

Yes but they brought plenty of 'previous' with them didn't they? Jones brings nothing but sparkling (if limited) reviews so will hopefully get a bit longer honeymoon than the others. Plus he seems a likeable bloke capable of saying the right things as well which will help.

Jones and Paul Hart we really have found our level................................... I've said from the start of the season, the priority is to avoid the trap door straight through to the third tier like so many relegated premier league sides.

Good. We need an older head around the place. As many, I 've come to the conclusion this will be a long, hard slog to try to get us back to where we at least THINK we belong! Strange too that so many of us didn't take to Rowett and yet seem to think that Jones just could be our man. As many of us felt that Leslie's time was up long before he actually got shown the door, it proves that our 'hunches' may sometimes actually be correct so fingers crossed on this one. I do feel that Jones will have to bring in some younger, fitter and enthusiastic blood. He may also need to bring in some tried and tested Championship types that know how to fight for a cause. He may need to delve into lower leagues to get that eager enthusiasm to do well for a Club wishing to reinvent itself. Too many of our existing squad, as again we thought, felt 'above' the Championship. We need players, who WANT to get the Club promoted, who maybe feel that it's their right to have a go in the Biggest League in the world even if should we get back some will find they're not good enough. Paul Hart will hopefully command some respect, especially from any of those who find it difficult to take orders from 'youngsters' We just have to weather the storm and hopefully as the dust settles in coming weeks we'll stabilise our position in this division (yes, that threat of relegation really does exist)and start to rebuild inside and out. We've had a crap few years and as supporters we've put up with a lot. We now have to stop bitching and moaning and get back to doing our job of supporting and helping turn our ground back into the fortress. We can do our bit and NJ knows that they HAVE to do theirs. We're In it together!

I think Hart will be our best signing this window. I feel Jones needed him badky, even more so after the start we have had. I think as a pair they will flourish and turn out to be a strong force behind our upturn.

Good move by the club. Let Jones focus on coaching the team and Hart concentrate on the backroom stuff - including acting as a lightening rod for the inevitable abuse coming the way of the new management regime.
In fact I think the City of Stoke-on-Trent should grant Hart permission to deck any fan bringing the club into disrepute - for abusing the manager, damaging property, throwing pies at little girls and generally behaving like a complete knobhead.

Reminds me of TP having Gerry Francis/Peter Reid around during his time here. Should be a good appointment and offers experience and advice for Jones to listen to.

Didn't Pulis bring in Gerry Francis and Peter Reid for similar role?
Maybe frees NJ up to deal with ghe football side?
