“While I am tremendously excited for the challenges ahead with Stoke City, I am sad to be leaving Meadow Lane.
“Notts County is a club very close to my heart and, especially with the current predicament, this is not a decision I took lightly.
Notts owner and chairman Alan Hardy added: “This is a magnificent opportunity for Paul and we were not going to stand in his way.
“It’s been a pleasure working with him and his knowledge and experience have been a big help to us.
“We wish him and Nathan the very best of luck in their new challenge.”
Something worth noting here is how humble both blokes have been when leaving their respective clubs. Both have spoken openly about how tough the decision was to leave, and whilst some might take that as a slight against us, it is in no way that. It just speaks volumes about the two men we've employed to steer us through some potentially choppy waters.
Well done to Notts County too, who inifinitely showed more class than Luton when they are in a very dire situation themselves.

Very pleased with this appointment. The two together will make profound changes to Stoke. It will take time but I am certain it will be worth it.

Good appointment this is. Welcome Paul.
Whilst we sail through these rocky waters, I look forward to seeing the Stoke City side in 12 months.
I reckon we will be a much different club to the one we are enduring now.
We’ll be back.

I'm very pleased with this appointment. A top class communication from Notts County as well. I remember going to Maine Road in the seventies to watch Stoke play in a testimonial against Man City, as part of Paul's Dad Johnny Hart's testimonial. Well over forty years later and Johnny's son will be part of, I hope, a very successful management team at Stoke.

Cultured defender for the era while at Leeds, but still knew how to stick the boot in when required. Had a horror leg break at Birmingham City but just got on with it. Check it on YouTube.
Not one to mess about with but a good bloke who is measured in his responses. Coached at all levels, did great things at Charlton Academy.
Everyone (yes you lot upstairs too) at the club would do well to listen to a proper footballing man. Especially the fat Leek goalkeeper. His record playing and coaching deserves great respect.
And a little bit of this wouldn't go amiss either.

Hopefully another missing jigsaw piece. Next up players who can fit the system, fullbacks who get forward with quality hopefully and the glaring issue of centre backs.

I'm happy with this. My nagging worry with Jones is his inexperience and never having managed a club of this size at this level before. I was worried he might be a little naive and our game management against Shrewsbury with us not taking some tired, flagging players off sooner did nothing to ease my concerns. Hopefully he can be the wise old head to nudge him in the right direction in times like that.

I wonder what people would have thought if in August you’d told them Nathan Jones and paul hart would be our management team before the end of January , credit where credit is due recruitment team have very successfully lowered expectation from the lowest possible base . Bore off Benji. You still waiting for the gravity crocodile again.

He has a lot of relevant experience and may well do a decent job. But that's not why he is here. He is here because unlike the likes of Sam Allardyce, Harry redknapp et Al. He's not going to be going around rocking the boat. Asking questions inside and outside of the club ( including in the media) He is going to be a quiet yes man Who will allow Scholes carto and jc to carry on as before, for good or for bad, and pocket lots of cash, thank you very much With respect fella that's cobblers. He's coming in not to be a patsy for the Dynamic Duo he's coming in because our new manager wants him, has worked successfully with him before and trusts him. I hope you are right. Of course I want them to succeed. I am certain this board have gone out of their way to avoid appointing a big name, who might rock the boat, such as a frank Lampard or a Steven Gerrard But that's another story for another day Nathan Jones is a very highly regarded coach, and ofcourse I want Nathan and Paul Hart to be a big success here.

Great appointment. Hopefully hart will be the nasty bastard needed for this squad, if any player has lack of respect for the gaffer what till this guy gets to grips with them.
Just what we need, old head to help NJ

Looks like an excellent fit for us.
Looking at his record, he seems to have had a career where he joins a club, does a job for a year or two, three at most, and then moves on. At his current age and with Jones experience, that is just what is needed. Help sort out this squad, create a new one, and develop any talent in the academy, then retire.
What the club needs above all is a first class talent spotter/recruiter. Hart has been so many places, he must have a wealth of contacts to use. That was something Hughes had and used well in his early years, but it dried up and we wasted a fortune in dross in his last couple of seasons.

If we're devoid of leadership on the pitch I'm glad he's been bought in to bolster the touchline

Paul Hart, son of Johnny Hart, ex Man City goalkeeper. I went to his (Johnny) testimonial, 1st May 1974, when Stoke were invited to be the opposition, can't remember the score though, anybody else go?

Jones and Paul Hart we really have found our level................................... Fallen Premier league club struggling in the championship. We have appointed one of the most exciting British talents in Nathan Jones and supported him with his backroom team. In the current circumstances, I'm delighted.

Jones and Paul Hart we really have found our level................................... I don't know about that but We do need some results quick smart. I'm not sure what the opposite of a new manager bounce is but that's what was served up at Brentford followed by the simply astonishing Shrewsbury meltdown.
