That’s a bit much when we’ve got people on this very thread effectively giving Pulis the credit for anything achieved in the early Hughes seasons. Works both ways doesn’t it? It shouldn’t be hard to take a step back and see the good and bad in both, but apparently it is, because people don’t want to. It shouldn’t be hard Rob I agree but it always will be for plenty I’m afraid I'm including you very much in their number mate. The idea anyone suggesting Hughes' first few seasons were in fact a lot of fun and pretty successful must be a swivel-eyed Pulis hater is very, very silly isn't it?

I hate Hughes for what he did to our club eventually but appreciate the football he played at the same time BUT for me the first outweighsh the 2nd. As for Pulis he burned his bridges for me on his return to the club but not before that. All about opinions Rob😊

Growing complacent...signing players with troubled pasts and massive egos on big wages, allowing players to become unfit, you only have to look at arnie and shaq to see the evidence of that...must I go on? Arnie and Shaq weren't the problem were they? Just merely stating the fact that they seemed to lose a lot of weight after leaving...fitness was a huge issue.

Going back to the op I was a big fan of Robert huth but I also thought refs were keeping a close eye on him and were looking to book him as soon as he touched the ball. Unfortunately he had become toxic for us which is why we had to let him go quite rightly imo just a shame we couldn't find a replacement.

No mate not at all...just stating that they shed lots of pounds after leaving...fitness was clearly an issue under Hughes.

Of course I agree fitness was an issue. But either way I was asking what the “everything” was that he undid, the point being that there were two or three good seasons of “doing” (e.g. signing and integrating the likes of Shaq and Arnie - not easy players to get firing) before the undoing commenced.

Everything as in the first 3 seasons...playing great football with some memorable results, he let things slip at an alarming rate.
