His move to Leicester was probably the biggest slice of luck ever to befall a player! What a great bloke and he can look back on his career and point to a medal that very few have got! As honest as the day is long and part of our own story. Good luck Robert.

Used to love feeling like we were going to score from every corner when Huth went up.
Now we politely let the opposition head it away under no pressure

I lived in a shared house in stoke back when Huth was still playing for us, and a German guy in there was surprised when he saw Huth in the sentinel as he knew of Huth but was unaware he played for Stoke. The German guy pronounced his name "hoot" rather than "hoo-th" so maybe we've all been getting it wrong all this time.

Good old Huthie - taking the piss out of Andy Murray. An `Old School` footballer if ever there was one !

I wouldn't worry about it mate - a lot of Stoke fans cant even pronounce the British players' names right !

Again, proof that anyone can put any old bollocks on Twitter and people will believe them. All the best Huthy, what a legend.

I think so, I remember after a game where he might have (if you looked at it in low light from a funny angle) stamped on Suarez, he was getting dogs abuse on twitter from Liverpool fans and he goaded them with the fact he has more premier league medals than Gerrard (one at the time).

I'll never forget Liverpool fans asking him what he'd won when he took the piss out of Suarez for crying when they drew 3-3 with Palace in 2014 and him basically replying with "The Premier League, Twice."
I bet even he doubted he'd grab another medal before he career ended.
Huth will always remind me of one of the happiest times of my life supporting Stoke, and his goal against West Ham in the FA Cup Quarter Final is one of my favourite of the Pulis era.

RE popular players becoming coaches for us, forget a former player who came to us on the back of having a sex tape leaked, and falling over a dog in a nightclub etc. I think we could all get behind Huthy.
Hard as nails and was about as much fun as you could have watching a defender. If he was going to take a ball cleanly you'd sometimes see him slow down to make sure he could have a bit of man as well.

Speaking about pronounciation here, how do you really pronounce McClean? Maclin or Maclain?

The reason why I asked was that the people commentating our games on our official site have said the opposite except from the last game. I always thought what you're saying was the right pronounciation though, but I started to wonder. Says a lot about the people commentating though, not much research there!

Good luck to him. Through family connections I hear he's a really nice bloke with a great family. While recovering from his knee injury with us, he used to worry about his future after retirement, but you can't keep a good man down so I think the owd Berliner Mauer will have a good future whatever he does. Huuuuuuttthhhh!

Old school, quality defender Still can't understand why we let him go Ah well, spilt milk and all that He was suffering from regular knee injuries, the wrong side of 30 and we were playing really well without him, so it was always gonna be difficult for him to get back into the side. He just so happened to have another couple of seasons in him and one of those happened to be the freak of nature that was Leicester in 2015/16. I don't think losing Huth was a mistake at all in the long run.
