Couldn't give a shit about his religion.
Stoke City is mine, if he gives his all to us, we'll give our all to him.

I hope he subscribes to Bojanism like a few religious fanatics/extremists on here otherwise he could clash with a section of the fans.

We should change the coming-out-of-the-tunnel music now to a rip-roaring full-on "Onward Christian Soldiers" & winning music to "Bread of Heaven" maybe.....

In a time when it's trendy to mock faith and especially (solely) Christianity it's refreshing to hear someone speak so passionately about it. For those who believe this is rewarding to hear. Like seeing a stoke top when you are on holiday. For those that don't believe it's a non event and shouldn't affect their view of the guy or provide an opportunity for cheap religious/faith based shots. Mainly agree - but puns and comedic lines are certainly still welcome. Same with me - if anyone wants to take a shot at me for being, generally, an all around legend, they are welcome to.

The two references to 'god willing' in his interview concerned me somewhat. Effort and talent wins football matches. If we lose has god just backed the other team? I'm a bit jaundiced having seen post match interviews on Monday with the winning American College football coach from S. Carolina who name-checked 'the lord' in virtually every sentence he uttered.

If Nathan Jones or anybody else can convince me that 'God' is anything more than an abstract concept i'll give them the nod. I'm not holding my breath.

I plopped down in my easy chair and turned on Channel 2 A bad gunslinger called Salty Sam was chasin' poor Sweet Sue He trapped her in the old sawmill and said with an evil laugh, "If you don't give me the deed to your ranch I'll saw you all in half!" And then he grabbed her (and then) He tied her up (and then) He turned on the bandsaw (and then, and then!)
And then along came Jones Tall, thin Jones Slow-walkin' Jones Slow-talkin' Jones Along came long, lean, lanky Jones

Do we have Sunday matches anymore in the Championship ? Are Sunday games a no show for him - like the tall bloke who does football focus covers Saturday FA Cup games but not Sundays due to his faith?

I wonder how effectively working for bet365 sits with him? I know he was very much part of Luton's anti-gambling drive, we're just about the polar opposite of that stance. Mr Faye, The exactly same thought crossed* my mind as soon as a heard he was the manager. Mind you 'He who must not be named' was also a Welsh God botherer and he was quite happy to take Bet 365's sinful money. All religion IMHO is an advanced form of mental illness GD

I must admit I would be uncomfortable working for anyone too overtly religious, I would suspect their decision making was not facts based and instead coming from some higher place.

Mr Gods, Yes he was. I personally have no issue with whatever Nathan Johns believes in and does in his private life as long is it doesn't impinge on his ability to make a silk purse out of the sows ear he's inherited. Plus you never know. His version of GOD and his/her/its various rules and regulations might be a Stokie GD

As far as I am concerned as long as when we get the ball to the half way line he gets the team moving forward rather than passing back to Butland I couldn't care less if he is a Christian, Hindu, Satanist or Jedi Knight.

As a Man of faith i find it encouraging that he is so open about his faith on a public forum. He’s not forcing an agenda but isn’t afraid to be open about it in a time when it can be frowned upon so readily.
He may say God willing a few times but that doesn’t detract from the professionalism he seems to bring to the table like a breath of fresh air. I too believe strongly in God and leading my life under Him but I’m still a professional and if anything it makes me more determined to do my best for the organisation and it’s employers.

I am assuming he has signed up St Jude, patron saint of hopeless cases, as part of his backroom team. Go on Nathan glory glory hallelujah and the reds go marching on on on Perhaps the intercession of former goalkeeper Pope St John Paul II could be on hand as a replacement for Andy Quy, should the need arise.

Well the word "God" has probaly been mentioned tens of thousands of tinmes in the past 3 seasons, but not in worship but as a response to our football. So we will have to see if God has helped us.
