He's said himself he's not a winger and hates playing there, especially at Ajax. I was under the impression he has mostly played as a striker throughout his career He's probably thought himself as a striker but the teams I listed mostly played him on the wing. He burst through at Barca as a striker but most of his appearances were on the wing except for the one season when he pushed Zlatan out of the team an took the striker spot for himself. Might not like to play as a winger but has shown that he can do a job there. Worth saying though that when I say winger I talk about the attacking variety in 4-3-3 not the traditional 4-4-2 winger. You should probably refer to him as a wide man. Even in a 433 he doesn't stay locked on the wing, does he.

English is my fourth language so can't get all the nuances right all the time

There's an interesting article in the Guardian about Gerard Deulofeu, whose career with many stops mirrors Bojan's almost exactly. With regard to why managers seem reluctant to pick him, he says, "felt that his lofty reputation came to be a problem for his managers – they were under pressure to ensure that he fulfilled his potential but, equally, they did not want to rush things. “The expectation levels were so big and for some coaches, it’s difficult to manage this." www.theguardian.com/football/2018/dec/09/gerard-deulofeu-interview-watford-barcelona-everton-football

At 28, you really do wonder where he goes from here. I’d have him in the squad and starting games but it’s obvious Rowett doesn’t fancy him and the return of Clucas has seen him drop out of the squad completely. I’m not one for sentiment when it comes to millionaire footballers normally but Bojan does seem to have had his fair share of setbacks and disappointments, yet still seems like a great lad. It will be a sad day when he leaves. That glorious period will be gone and forgotten about. He was the one who kicked it all off. The glorious period and Bojan won’t be forgotten by the majority of fans

This exact period 2017-19 yes. But there's nothing (much) depressing about 2014-16. I suppose the only negative is that we didnt do better, because we could have.

It all went to shit after that! A mix of before and after injury. He set up the goal in that Semi!

Remind me again why I can't warm to our pretend manager?
