1)You were talking about his loan spells with Alaves and Mainz. How many games did you watch that had Bojan in the team? 2)You say he's isn't the same player any more. How many full games has Bojan played this season to justify your claim to be agreeable with Rowett? I guess you understand that if a loan player shows his value to a team he will play? If you have others who can do the same job or better they will be picked instead of him. In Alavez he was forced out because his contribution wasn't what they'd hoped for. If he had been unplayable he would have played. How many games has he had a big impact on when given the chance except for the Rotherham game? I was a fan of him, but has lost my faith. Did you just completely disregard every fact I gave you about the loans and replace them with your own imagination? I'm out of this conversation. When one side complements their argument with facts and the other just keeps broadcasting their gut feeling of things the discussion has effectively lost all worth in my opinion.

But really what have we got to lose by giving him good run in the side as a No.10? It's been shocking first half of the season. Personnel I really don't care what he has or hasn't done out on loan but what i know he was capable of and still might be with the right backing from the manager. If we had been doing well you could justify him not getting a run but it's been awful. Give him run of 10 games and see where we are, If it works great if not then we probably be in the same position anyway. Rowett and his staff can see him in training every day, and I guess he would play him if he believed he could make a difference. This is probably not the situation so he keeps him on the subs bench at best. Again, if he had stood out in training he would have been given the chance, I'm certain of that. I was where you are now at the start of the season and really hoped a new manager and a new league could bring the best out of him. I have realised though that this probably isn't going to happen. Bojan will probably never be the answer for Stoke City again, I really would wish I'm wrong, but I'm not any longer a believer. Rowett believes McClean is a good player. His judgement is seriously skewed.

Probably the best example is Will Hughes at Derby, when Rowett said he isn't the right type of player for him. Now he's playing week in week out in Premier League but for some reason wasn't good enough for Rowett.

I actually watched a couple of games where Bojan started in Spain, but he was completely invisible in both those games. I also think he was replaced in both those games as he had zero impact on what was going on. My understanding was that the Spanish club had agreed to a season long loan, but realised Bojan wasn't up for it and tried to force him out. If he had been an impact player, would they really have done that? As I've said I've also been a fan of Bojan, but has realised he isn't the real deal any longer. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but to me Rowett's decision not to play him seems fairly reasonable.

It was less about his impact on the pitch and more about his impact on the wage bill. Around September Bojan had an injury which had him miss 3 games in the row and during that time the manager that signed him was sent packing. Come January Alavés was already on their 3rd manager of the season and the board along with the major shareholder had made a decision that they no longer wanted to pay the kind of wages they were paying. There was talk that some of the players weren't being paid at all during November and December as they were being forced to leave in the January window. Bojan later said that his personal contacts had been given to pontential suitors in China and USA. Again, it wasn't only Bojan and there were other high profile, high wage players treated exactly the same. After January he was included in the squad only 6 times out of 20. When the press was questioning the manager Abelardo about his continuing absence he answered that it's out of his hands. "It's the clubs decision", he said. Everyone can draw their own conclusion from these facts but I personally would hope that at least people would find out some facts about things that were happening before bluntly proclaiming that he wasn't "good enough" during his loans.

Maybe he had a clause in his contract that they had to sign him if he played over x amount or they had to pay him bonus money from games and goals. In any case the fact that the decision wasn't the managers but the owners speaks volumes.

He's either been substitute, for the most part, or substituted himself. Or he hasn't played at all. He's mostly been played out of position, deeper in midfield, which is absurd since he can play any four forward positions. I guess I was referring to you although I didn't know it at the time, when I said people were complaining about his impact in games that he didn't even play in.

Did you see him have any good games for them? There might be other reasons to get rid of him, but anyway you have to play well to be important for a team.

Can't really comment at all mostly because he didn't really get to play at all. Across his 14 appearances of the season he played on average 32 minutes of football per game and this includes starts. I struggle to think of a player in world football who can build any kind of momentum with that kind of game time. That's why I'm still advocating for him. Last I've seen him getting a proper run he was immense. After that he hasn't been given a chance, so if he's given a good run in the team and he still performs poorly I'll be forced to change my stance.

But when I say 7 successive games, I mean 90 minutes in every game and played in one of the four forward positions he commands. I don't know this bother about changing the system. He's a very versatile player, he can adapt to the needs of the team, although obviously he's no Crouchwannabe.

Only thing he can't do that Diouf can is full back and under no conditions I want to see Diouf there either. Also he's not in the squad again today it seems. If Ipswich at home isn't his game then there isn't a game for him at all. It's becoming pretty clear that if there's any one taker for him in January he won't hesitate to leave.

Sale denies it though: “We all sit down as staff and go through it in fine detail, not just the starting XI, the subs. We just feel that when we make changes at the moment we’ve got better options. That’s not to say in the future that Boj won’t be on the bench or even start games. “He has done well. We’d like him to do probably more higher up the pitch. He’ll tend to drop deep where he’s not really hurting teams. “The manager’s made a decision today that he’s not on the bench but I wouldn’t look into that much.”

The first time he was played as n. 10 was at Stoke City. The fact that he's better centrally doesn't make him a shit winger.

I'd say striker, n.10, winger is pretty versatile. “The manager’s made a decision today that he’s not on the bench but I wouldn’t look into that much.” This is unbelievable. The management team that puts him out there and makes him play a holding midfield role comes out saying he should be higher up the pitch. No shit, everyone knows that except you it has seemed so far.

Bojan cannot play wide, end of story So having made a career playing as mostly winger for Barcelona, then Roma, then Milan and finally Ajax. Pretty well for a guy who can't play wide. The first time he was played as n. 10 was at Stoke City. The fact that he's better centrally doesn't make him a shit winger. He's said himself he's not a winger and hates playing there, especially at Ajax. I was under the impression he has mostly played as a striker throughout his career

I was under the impression he has mostly played as a striker throughout his career He's probably thought himself as a striker but the teams I listed mostly played him on the wing. He burst through at Barca as a striker but most of his appearances were on the wing except for the one season when he pushed Zlatan out of the team an took the striker spot for himself. Might not like to play as a winger but has shown that he can do a job there. Worth saying though that when I say winger I talk about the attacking variety in 4-3-3 not the traditional 4-4-2 winger.
