I think most of them are quite sensible on there. U21 clubs being in that competition is a disgrace, I'll take no pleasure whatever the result. Why is it a 'disgrace'? The u21's get some essential experience against seasoned pros and the lower league teams get to lock horns with some much bigger name clubs. Win-Win isn't it? I don't agree that it is win-win no. You're essentially describing a friendly match for the bigger clubs and disrespect to the vales. Works well in experience for the bigger clubs. Shits on the lower league clubs. The competition is meant to be for the lower leagues. You remove what the competition means once you parachute kids in from bigger teams. It's patronising disrespectful and pointless for the lower league teams. That's why I think it's a disgrace.

Lots of memories, Jolly Carter 2000, getting into the Huntsman 89, KFC Burslem all after home games, The American, Bell and bear Shelton, Chicago Rock cafe, hitting the Huntsman after West Brom away 90s, next month will see lots of old grizzlies on their best behaviour and lots of kids without a clue how to replicate the old days a few flares thrown and a few plastic cups will no doubt get hurt in the process

Any chance of Charlie doing a 'reducer' on Pope in the last few minutes?
Popey missing might help nudge them towards the bottom of the table 😉

this game will mean nothing to any of our mature stokies[over 40's] it certainly registers zero for me and I enjoyed it when we won it twice but it is a comp for the teams of the old third and fourth division so there is no way we should even be participating.

it's a sham of a 'game' for a fairly small bunch of saddos.
a game of footy in the park between fans with jumpers for goalposts would be more inspiring and of greater relevance.

You have me thinking Bristol,

The Internet Policewoman will be in meltdown.
Anger not seen since that coach load of Stokies dressed up as Charlton fans caused mayhem all those years ago.

I genuinely fear for our kids will go to this match as they have never had the pleasure of a real potteries derby.and whilst most of our older boys couldn't give a fig about this game the vale boys will be out in force as they will see it as a chance to get one over stoke.i hope im wrong.

I’ll be in the Caribbean. Any chance it’ll be on the TV over there 🤣 which part, i'm there next week and a bit, I'll have a look for a TV in a bar, it'll save you the 'where to watch Stoke in the Virgins' thread On Britannia cruising from Barbados around the Islands. Don’t really think I’ll be that bothered ☺️

Local banter, long overdue I’d prefer to have the local banter about the Vale when we’re both in the EPL. Pigs will fly, so I’ll hold back any interest in local banter about PVFC.

Tin-pot trophy of no real importance to anyone.
May as well include the u21s and try and develop some of the more homegrown players to play at the highest level or any level for that matter.
I’m sure this set up could prove beneficial.

You’re right - I couldn’t give a flying one about this competition. However, I’ll be taking the afternoon off work to drive the 3 hours for this one to see my beloved red n white stripes run out into that putrid cesspit that is Boslem. Im looking forward to this more than any Premier League borefest for the last 2 seasons...

Ohh that is enticing... I also love how Vale says there is no way to win this, but also loves that gate money keeping them afloat so they have to endure the possible embarrassment, what a catch 22. over on one vile fan a couple have mentioned the policing bill for this, i hope we contribute zip to it as a club and boycott the pies at half time, hopefully by the time they have paid the police bill they will be worse off than if they hadnt played the fixture! 😂 Always trying to get out of bills that club.

The more relevant question considering we've already basically been given a bye to the next round is, are we taking 40,000 to Wembley in the final?
