Thought there would have been more in attendance when the Potteries Reserve derby met in 2015 at Vale Park. Didn't have an away end, finished 1-1. Will be different this time around. Wonder what our allocation will be? There will be 100 away fans and 200 old bill. Absolute no chance of their being 100 folk there. Out U23s get around 500 for one of their league matches, 70 travelled to Carsile. This will be over 1k Let's be honest if they gave us 5k we'd sell it piece of piss. What I'm saying is I wouldn't be surprised if the police have a say in the allocation, wouldn't be surprised if they gave us fuck all, 100 being the example, where we would sell that in the first minutes of tickets being released.

Surely allowing us plenty of seats in the away end is better than limiting us and Stokies buying up seats in the other parts of the stadium.

Can you imagine the youth of today going back 20 years on Waterloo road? Outside the 147 snooker club? Or on Newcastle street outside the pub (name escapes me) not a stone island jacket in sight, or chanting we are stoke as the police turn up! My god, if our new breed of beer throwing spackas turn up do yourself a favour lads and don’t cry when it goes nasty pity the american is shut now can remember being in there for a night match...walking through the back streets of cobridge to get in burslem town centre to be meeted by a mob of about 100 running towards us turns out they were stoke who had been in the furlong...that night it would have taken a army to move us

The new breed of soccer casual, chanting in the concourse, throwing beer in the air, 700 quid CP Company coat, and shit their pants if Vale ran at them unless it's the Vale equivalents with their fake clobber. Whilst far from condoning anything that has gone before, lets not kid ourselves this current bunch who attach themselves to Stoke would cack their little panties at the llikes of Wolves, Brum ,millwall etc in the past and even Vale.

That’s the night where the snooker hall had a makeover Memorable as at the time I was working at Festival Park Odeon, which had the Snooker/Pool Club upstairs. The 147 owner was in a few days after bemoaning Stoke this & Stoke that, after the night time refurbishment. Some wag who worked their at the time (Not me Guvnor...) had lets say first hand knowledge of the incident, and enquired if the owner needed any additional dust pans & brushes.

Wonder how much the vile will charge for the tickets. As a taxpayer, the soapdodgers at least owe me the price of a ticket considering they haven't paid their council loan back yet.

TBH I cant see this grabbing the imagination of any one looking for trouble, times have changed, and whilst the 90's were at times pretty hair raising they are confined to history, todays knob head is more likely to throw a beer at you than a punch.
My guess is 600/800 Stoke Fans, and maybe 2,000/3,000 Vale fans, and pretty much no bother.

I think most of them are quite sensible on there. U21 clubs being in that competition is a disgrace, I'll take no pleasure whatever the result.

We all know that the competition is a sham and shouldn't exist in its current state.
However, any Stoke fan or sleazy Vale cunt reading this, if you honestly don't get at least a bit interested in this, I'd question your status as a football fan.
Neither of us have a proper derby other than this and even though it's basically irrelevant, it is still competitive.
I'm 30 and have never seen one of these as a proper adult and even though my formative footy years were littered with derbies (that we invariably lost), this rivalry actually holds some weight, no matter how snobbily you try to disregard it.
I hope we get them in a proper competition but fans make the game and snotty cunts wanking off how they're not going (on both sides) just contributes to the wankiness of nogger.
Both sides should be baying for blood.

Vale got an attendance of about 600 for Middlesborough U21's in the previous round so perhaps they will quadruple that for us and your estimate of 2,000/3,000 Vale fans won't be far out. But 600/800 Stoke fans? That sounds way too low, I would imagine there will be more Stoke fans in the ground than Vale.

Both sides should be baying for blood. It's wank because it undermines the competition, the fans and the reputations that go with it. The very existence of it is the most sleazy snotty and wanky thing, and whilst I'd never picket anyone else from going - it's unfair to say whether a person is a football fan or not based on attendance which by virtue, props up the further degradation of football. Is it competetive? Yes. Is it irrelevant? Yes to Stoke, No to Vale. Does the rivalry hold weight? You fucking bet it does, But not like this. This is a fucking excuse to diminish rivalries and for fucking what??

The u21's get some essential experience against seasoned pros and the lower league teams get to lock horns with some much bigger name clubs. Win-Win isn't it?
