Finally released from hospital 9th April after 18 days. Few complications after surgery..infection and dehydration mainly. Didn’t eat for 12 days apart from jelly and water. Now home eating much better but over a stone weight loss. Never been so light. Have some outpatients stuff over coming weeks and not certain yet whether chemo will be needed. Consultant awaiting pathology report on removed section. Hopefully Robinson drain will be removed next week as I can only lie on my back at present.

My old man at same age tripped over the back door entrance whilst carrying his car battery from the car to kitchen to charge it. Unfortunately with independence comes higher risk as we get older. We'll be there one day mate.

Ta.It's a good job they made them so tough back in his day. I bet your mum's had a horribly worrying time the last couple of days. .........But apart from all that, did your dad get the job on the roof done before he fell off? Or has your mum got to finish it now? Give them our love and best wishes and tell your mum to wear a padded jacket + a beanie because it can be cold up there. xxxxxxxxx

Ohhhhhhhh, Chuff! I'm sure Dees was only trying to be friendly........... My dad was the twit. Don't know what he thought he was doing. Blinkin' eck, Chuff............. gutsy, though, or what? Have you now got to do a double-shift of hospital visits for check-ups? One day you, the next day papa? Remember Storm wotsit, before the recent one called Gareth? (F.....F......F........ Fiona, perhaps???? Can't remember)...... Anyway, remember that one? Blew the whole roof clean off the shed where Mellors keeps all his tools, etc. ----- Guess what - Mr Surf was all set to get on the roof to try to put it back, the daft bat. I said to him "Crispin, if you even attempt to get on the roof I'll knock you right off again and then break both your legs myself." He got the message and I rang the people who'd originally supplied it about 15 years ago and they popped right over and did the necessary. - Otherwise, Chuff, you and I might have been regularly meeting for Afternoon Tea in the North Staffs attendants' cafeteria round about now….. PS: Having said that, it's just occurred to me that Crispy's got to go back to the stripy place tomorrow for a check-up on his broken hand following their X-raying it last week. It's all GO, innit……

Oh, no, the rozzers took that off me yonks ago at an anti-foxhunting rally, Dees. No, Crispy had an unfortunate bit of a slipsy-in-the-mudsy acky avec le grand chien féroce a couple of weeks ago. (Yes, I know what that should be in full but I thought it would be fun to venture into a bit of franglais on 'ere for a change..... ) Anyway, I'm sure I posted before about his acky.....
