Bloody hell , I went to my GP in September to get referred had the opp the following may Mine were even quicker. Both done in the one calendar year (2017). I thought that I was a bit of a basket case but feel really sorry for you staffs. It wasn't you they were trying to get out of their way fast, Chuff, it was me an' Dees, sitting in Nuffield's reception with a noisy following and a 45-foot 'Sort Chuff out NOW' banner. Worked a treat.

They knew you've got 'friends in high places', H. Your GP just didn't want to wake up one morning with a horse's head in his bed..... I've since learned over 60 s get priority 😉 Oh, izzat so? Thanks, H. I'll bear that in mind for the future.

That's definitely the right decision, Laurie........ just imagine it with just a local....... OMG. And what do they do it on? A rack? Can you please keep us in the loop on this, because we like to know how everybody's doing with this sort of stuff. Ta! Will do Murphs. I have plenty of reading material for recuperation thank you Excellent! If you're not careful, Lozza, Dees and I might visit you when you're in there - we perfected 'the noble art of cheering hospital patients up' when Chuff was in the Nuffield at Newcastle by visiting him several times a day. They couldn't discharge him fast enough.

Our eldest daughter and her boyfriend are working in N.E.India at the moment and he, a few weeks ago, suffered a collapsed lung.
Once this had been diagnosed at the state hospital they attended they were told that he would be admitted (which he was there and then) and he would be having an op’ later that day. The op’ seems to have consisted of drilling a few holes in to his chest and the outer sack that contain his lungs to allow some air out which had been leaking out of a hole in one of his lungs for some time (unbeknown to him) and which was stopping his lung inflating, and then inserting some tubes in there to allow the remainder to seep out for a few days. (they were later removed).
Anyway……. When they told him of the operation, they also happened to mention that they didn’t actually have an operating theatre so would treat him on the ward. He was given a local anaesthetic and the op’ was done in full view of the rest of the ward without even a curtain being pulled around the bed. He found it quite painful, but survived it. There was a young boy in the next bed along who was, apparently, taking a fairly keen interest in what was going on and eventually it turned out that he had just had some kind of heart surgery, right there on the ward under a local anaesthetic!
The bill for the treatment which included the initial consultations, x-rays, the operation, five days overnight in hospital, medicine & anti biotics etc, and some basic food came to just short of £48.
(as the people who they are working for had transferred a few thousand pounds to help with the initial medical expenses, I think they've made a fairly sizeable donation to the hospital funds)

What I didn't realise was that the whole operation is live!!. I'm just glad they aren't doing hips, what with all those ball bearings going on. Oh and the guy is still awake, more fool him. 😉 I had total right hip replacement 7 years ago under general anaesthetic. Now having other side replaced Jan 4th and have been offered it under local. Then I watched an animation video on YouTube and watched the hacking and slashing with saws and hammers and the way the joint was dislocated to separate the femur from its pelvic socket. So it’s a general for me Chuffed. Right, chaps........ we're on countdown to Lawrie's new hip day........ two days to go........ Good luck, Lozza! (PS: Make sure they get the label right. Or left. Etc. )

Cheers for all the good wishes everyone. I’m sat waiting to go to theatre now. Opted for spinal block and deep sedation rather than general anaesthetic. Visiting is until 9pm Murphs and deeside. I’ll keep you posted.

I’ll keep you posted. All the best LL. Deep sedation? See if they'll give any extra out, I could do with a spot for after tomorrow's FA Cup exit at Shrewsbury.
Murphs, D, you total stars. All that way to go see LL in his hours of need. I'm not at all surprised you're making the trip, but mighty impressed & proud of you both all the same.
Of course, it will have absolutely nothing to do with any sense of fulfillment Murph gets at seeing a chap in pain ;-)

I think we will all need some tomorrow ! Just hope the performance and result doesn't cause the fans to be quite as vociferous as they were at Bolton and against Bristol ! I hope this is Rowett's last game in charge and then we can move on with a new manager which will hopefully lead to improved performances and results and a possible tilt at the play-offs (well I can hope, can't I ?)
