Cheers for all the good wishes everyone. I’m sat waiting to go to theatre now. Opted for spinal block and deep sedation rather than general anaesthetic. Visiting is until 9pm Murphs and deeside. I’ll keep you posted. Thought that was a pop group! Hope all going well, Cap'n!

I guess we'll soon know if LL opted for right type of pain relief Hope it's gone well ! Mmmmmm, (**smacks lips**) I say, Dees, these fish & chips are delicious, even if we are only eating them sitting in your car in the carpark of Plymouth's Nuffield - could you please pass the vinegar? TA! The journey down was good wasn't it murph, even round Birmingham and I enjoyed stopping at Gloucester services on the M5. Your fish and chips certainly smell nice but I had a Cornish pasty and chips (well, when in Cornwall and all that !) - absolutely lovely ! Hope LL is conscious enough to actually realise that we've visited him - he'll probably notice that his black grapes are missing (oo-er !) when he finally comes round properly ! Spinal block and heavy sedation......I reckon that's "medical terminology" for a bottle of rum and then a big needle full of Nytol !

I’ll keep you posted. All the best LL. Deep sedation? See if they'll give any extra out, I could do with a spot for after tomorrow's FA Cup exit at Shrewsbury. Murphs, D, you total stars. All that way to go see LL in his hours of need. I'm not at all surprised you're making the trip, but mighty impressed & proud of you both all the same.
Of course, it will have absolutely nothing to do with any sense of fulfillment Murph gets at seeing a chap in pain ;-)
Yeah. Ta. Dees and I have driven down to Plymouth in his car and Dees was driving in case we got stopped by the bibs and told to blow into anything. Chuff wanted to come with us, of course, but couldn't b/c he's gone back to work - but that turned out to be a bad move as he's now caught a nasty cold from some of the other folk there. (*) And, to boot, Dees and I are eating his share of the flapjacks - which are ESPECIALLY delicious this time. I think it's the extra coconut I put in. (*) "Life is just one big sh*t sandwich, and some days you take a bigger bite than others……."

The nuisance part of having a heavy cold isn't so much the hooter running like a waterfall but having the old taste buds temporarily numbed is the worst bit. Fish and chips right now with lashings of salt and vinegar would go down a treat. Always been a big fan of flapjacks as well, pity they've all gone!!. 🙄🤨😉

Chuff, I'm getting REALLY concerned about your health and so have put out an APB on the 'Colds' thread for someone to come over and rub your chest.... ..... and even as we speak several of the guys off 'ere are forming a queue! Lucky you! (Or possibly not. Have you still got that baseball bat? ) I'll nip out to the chemist first thing and get some Vicks. Chuff, I'm not mucking about now - please get yourself some ECHINACEA tablets...... Sainos should have them in the vitamins (etc.) section if that's more convenient for you than getting to a chemist, but you need to start them really ASAP-ASAP.
Take two (together) per day for about 4 days, then reduce them to one per day, which you should keep up indefinitely - ie. for up to some 4-6 months, by which time the weather, etc., will have improved. At this time of the year, when there are so many vile cold/flu bugs about everywhere, anyone who doesn't already have a cold can take them too, but in that case there's no need for the double-dose to start with - just take one per day. Please remember this stuff, please, folks, because it's magic.

Colds and bugs etc I rarely get, whether that's just luck or a half decent constitution I don't know. But this particular one is quite nasty. Saisbo's first thing. 👍😚

According to the 'Colds' thread on 'ere, plus reports in the Sennel, there are some very serious bugs about - so you need to be SO careful.

Yeah. Speaking of which, my remedy for leprosy / the black death / man flu is half a pint of dark rum with a good glug of peppermint cordial in. (I hope Lawrie's still away in the land of the fairies otherwise the thought of adding anything to rum might give him a stroke.) Peppermint is good for indigestion (which I seem to get when I have a cold). The rum has obvious instant benefits but it also has plenty of sugar for energy. And the following day you won't even notice the cold because you'll have a hangover from hell.

Thought Echinacea was a type of soil Murphs. I thought echidnas were spiny marsupials. They must be a bugger to swallow. Great to hear you're good, Lawrie. Sod the Zimmer, get yer boots on. You'll still be more mobile than our central defenders.
