That's the best stat I saw tonight: the Eagles didn't allow any points against them in the last two minutes of the second half in the entire regular season and playoffs last season. That's so impressive.

If you can keep the Pulis love off the NFL thread that would be appreciated. This is where I come for an escape! Anyway...approaching kick-off. Shawn Mendez has fucked off. Get in there. I did think it was a strange question and certainly a strange thread to ask on but I fancy the Falcons here, they've had a great off-season, kept a lot of their team together too. none of the gobshite from the main board could answer for you

Bengals fan here. Will try and get to a couple of games this year. We're flying under the radar at the moment... most 'experts' have us going 6-10 or something similar with the improvements made from the other teams in our division. Browns will obviously be a much tougher nut to crack this year. But I'm quietly confident. And with the Le'veon news the Steelers will lose some of their edge. As for Saquon Barkley... I'm not convinced... And Jimmy Graham has been a spectator since he left the Saints. Let's see if Rodgers can bring him back to life! I can see that division being an 8-8 fest, but that does depend on Bell, Flacco and how good the Browns can be. I don't think Jimmy Graham was in the right offense at Seattle; very low TE usage. Reckon he'll be back with a bang this season. I think you could be right on the 8-8. Lots of decent-ish teams. A lot of people predicting the Ravens making the wild card (with some even mentioning the Browns). None mentioning the Bengals however. Sundays game at the Colts is obviously a huge one. A win there can only help with confidence. We have a strange schedule 3 of first 4 away from home 6 of next 8 at home 3 of 4 away from home That middle section obviously huge. Some very beatable teams there too

Can't quite believe what I've just seen.
The Bears start the game absolutely on fire and I'm already dismissing the Packers chances this season. Defense is looking ragged and the offense can't get anything going. That's BEFORE Rodgers badly twists his knee and Kizer has to come into the game with Rodgers going off to the locker room on a cart after being examined at the side of the field.
20-0 to the Bears at the half and I've totally given up but just want to stay awake to see how Rodgers is. Second half starts and he's at the side of the field, still suited up. Errr....hang on, what's going on here?
Rodgers comes back into the game and the Packers get three points back in the third quarter so still 17 points down. He can't put any weight on his left leg so adjusts accordingly and just starts firing missiles left, right and centre, including a bomb to the end zone after he's looked off the deep safety and a smart throw to Adams who dances his way in. The Bears get a field goal which puts The Packers six behind with less than three minutes left. For Rodgers' final trick he buys enough time until Cobb can get himself remotely open and then watches as the latter runs 75 yards for TD. 24-23 the final. Rodgers passer rating for the second half was somewhere around 140. Unbelievable.
If anyone can catch a replay of the entire game it's worth it. The Bears were fantastic in the first half and the Rodgers-inspired comeback had to be, and was, on a different level. Playing on one leg with a passer rating of 140 for a half you started 20-0 down and coming back to win 24-23 in the NFL against easily a top 8 defense? Crazy.

WHO DEY!
One of the best first halfs I've ever seen from the Bengals!
Second half a little shakier but a win is a win.
Huge hangover this morning...

The pressure will be on Pittsburgh in week 3 if they lose to Mahomes and the Chiefs tomorrow. The Bengals need the Leveon Bell saga to continue for as long as possible, because that's an unsettled team at the moment.

KC are a handy offensive team with a shaky defence. Much like Pittsburgh. I'm working about 35 miles out of Pittsburgh so will try and locate a bar and wind up the locals if I can get out of here at a reasonable hour!

The Bills brutalised the Vikings. Wtf is going on?

The Bills first 2 games were abysmal and no way would they win at the undefeated Vikings. So a 27-6 victory (27-0 at half-time) was more than a little surprising to say the least. Normal service to resume next week at the Packers perhaps although Green Bay aren't exactly on fire this season.

Some huge shocks this weekend...
Buffalo beating Minnesota (Vikings 17 point favorites!) Detroit beating New England. Tennessee beating Jacksonville. Washington beating Green Bay.
It's a crazy old league this year. 49ers back to being shite with Jimmy G likely done for the year.

Baker vs the Raiders tonight. Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Darnold all starting, time for this year's young guns QB class to show some more serious potential.
I think Mason Rudolph will come good when he replaces Big Ben,and Lamar Jackson is like a slippery eel.
Good times for the NFL, nevermind the kneeling bull shit.

Bengals still going strong. Did a very unBengal like thing of coming back from 17 points down to win.
Steelers next week will define the season.

The Browns have come about as close to winning all 5 games as any AFC team, with a kicker they'd be 4-1. If you win those 2, beat the Ravens again, you'll have a clear run to the playoffs I reckon, and the AFC is wide open this year...

Rams 5-0 after beating the Seahawks 33-31, missed an extra point conversion near the end and needed a dominant set of defensive plays on Seattle's last drive, a pass interference call and the QB running for abiut 2 inches on fourth down to make it. And they did all that despite both receivers grtting concussed in the first half.
Took my parents to watch second half at a bar in LA, they're usually just big footy and rugby fans, but I think they liked that one.

How good is Saquon Barkley already. I've seen some people argue he's already better than Gurley, Zeke, Gordon etc. I'm inclined to agree with his performances so far, shoo-in for Rookie of the year.

I agree - he's been very impressive so far. His fantasy figures have been mighty impressive as well. I was tempted to pick him in our draft although I wasn't sure if he'd live up to the hype, but unfortunately he'd already been picked by the time my turn came around

Anyone else watched The League? A friend persuaded me to go through it last year and it's pretty fucking funny. Then they persuaded me to sign up for a fantasy NFL league with them this year and I just got screwed by Saquon.

So a free weekend has rolled around and a chance to enjoy a few A Football Life films on Game Pass.
John Riggins. My brothers favourite player. I remember his 44 number as fullback for the redskins. Didn't know his nickname was The Diesel.
The Brown's 1995. Wow. What could have been. Almost everyone involved went on to success. Belichick, Ozzie Newsome, the Ravens!? Such a shame.
And Randle Cunningham. The original Robert Griffin, Cam Newton and Russell Wilson rolled into one. With a better arm!

I watched it 4 or 5 times, and cried twice. If I remember correctly you're a Raiders fan, Rog? Bill Parcells is a good one too, when he recounts the moment he stopped feeling sorry for himself on the way home from a play-off loss and decided to simply win the next Superbowl (which he did).

We are looking extremely healthy at the moment, 9 wins on the bounce meshing we are now 9-3 after starting 0-3.
DeShaun Watson / DeAndre Hopkins and Lemar Millar looking very good and our usual solid defence. Nice to keep a fit squad (touch wood)
