Alan Nixon@reluctantnicko
WEST BROM. Tried for Bojan in final hours of window. STOKE would have done business but price not agreed. Post Dack knock-back. ....and that tells you the direction we are going in. Looking at it now we have a team without flair, pace, resilience, power or direction (from the manager) and a manager out of his depth with a Board and management team which the modern game has left behind. By the way does anyone think the Bauer situation is reminiscent of the another fast attacking right back we once had in the championship, Hansson?

I almost wish we had sold him just to witness the complete meltdown it would have caused.
Especially if he was lining up for West Brom yesterday.

Not really. We had Xherdan Shaqiri, one of the best 10's in the Prem. Shaq isn't a number 10, his best games have been coming off the right with Bojan in the middle and Arnie left. Bojan is a better 10, Shaq is a better right winger, together they worked great. Add in Arnie and it was one of the best attacks outside the top 4. Shame we were shit scared of using it after a few losses. Don't, it's so depressing to think how far we have/are falling...

Not sure on my reaction had we sold our best technical player and only central creative outlet to a direct promotion rival on the last day of the window.
I think that may have genuinely driven me over the edge.

At least the club did something right by turning it down. West Brom would have been the wrong team for him anyway, like a previous poster said I could also see him flourish under Bielsa at Leeds.

Do you mean Hoefkens? If so, yes.

Also the playing of a centre-forward on the wing (albeit only the one, to-date). The phrase "pound shop Tony Pulis" comes to mind.

Fuckin' hell, if anyone was still looking for evidence of a disconnect between the club and the fans, this move would have smacked them in the face with a cricket bat.

Hope one of local media asks why they tried to sell and why he's not playing. They won't though.
