I've been a Christian for 30yrs today, 28th of August 1988(St Augustine's day)& by rights should be dead many times over, but I have been 'saved'. The most resent one was on holiday with my youngest 2 a couple of weeks back. We were swimming in the sea at Calablanque(a beautiful undeveloped coastline of Spain with fossilised sand dunes) & I looked over to the kids 7 & 12 yr olds & thought they're a bit far out. I swam over to them & shouted, "Can you touch the floor" "No" "Well swim back in till you can" "We're trying!" I got to them & held onto them & tried to swim back only to get pulled out further on a riptide. We stopped & trod water for a while, whilst evaluating my options at sea with two kids without panicking & I decided to try & alert my wife & eldest, & as I did I saw my wife was already looking out towards us & from behind her two Life Guards were belting towards us. Now their observation point was at least 200mtrs away & all of this had happened in a V short space of time, so they must have realised we were in trouble before we did. The Life Guards took the kids & I was just able to swim back to the shore against the tide. I now know why we hear about fathers & their children getting into difficulties at sea & drowning...

I'm 71 and think about it often...….I can even feel a hot sulfurous breath on my neck at times...... I get the same thing, then when I turn around she's standing there with a kitchen knife in her hand Bloke went to heaven after living a good life Come in said God you're welcome here. Looks a bit quiet he said. Do you mind if I take a look down stairs first. Sure no problem God said. So of he trots down to hell and is amazed to see a party in full swing with music, booze and girls. Come in Said the devil here have a can of beer. Bloody Hell^, looks good here he said But there is no hole in this beer can That's why it's hell son said the devil There's no holes in anything here.

It's something I've thought about on occasion, and ive come to this conclusion - I wanna die on the toilet, then fall off with my arse hanging out towards the ceiling. Ideally, my faeces will hit the ceiling or maybe the toilet cover ie. It will shoot out of me and explode like a firework!!

It must be so easy for this sort of thing to happen Bath. I was talking to a mate last week who goes over to Denmark one or twice a year and reminiscing about how safe the beach was where I used to go on holiday with the kids only to be told that there were some fair currents there which caused many to be caught out.

In response Bath I'd like to say that I became a " committed Christian" in my late teens ( over 40 years ago) , you know, ' gave my life to Christ ( John 3 v 16) then went on to ' speak in tongues' ( inexplicable now for me) and became a local ( Methodist) preacher on the Tunstall circuit. I wouldn't call myself a Christian now, some would say ' fallen by the wayside, for many reasons, ....I am comfortable with my stance, and understand and respect where you are coming from in acknowledging your faith, not always an easy thing to do when it is probably more fashionable not to believe. One thing I cannot get my head around, as I think that this is why you are alluding to in your post.....why does/ should God intervene on some occasions and yet not do so in other perhaps more catastrophic events...it doesn't satisfy me to say ' God works in mysterious ways' or ' it is a matter of faith' ( Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you didn't drown! and if you put that down to God's intervention , that's a matter for you). I would like to draw attention to the Potters' church , which was once described in a national newspaper as the best church in the country. Incredible work in my opinion, many things they do across Stoke on Trent that they deliberately Keep under the radar. I went to school with Phil Barber, and his brother Brian is truly an amazing man , a rock. The Barber family ( cinema/workhouse/ Lord Major/ Great Chell cricket club/ Keele University/ Stoke on Trent college) have worked hard for Stoke on Trent and are worth researching for those interested in local historyknow that SneydGreenStokie has links with the church. www.potterschurch.co.uk/en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Potter's_House_Church_(Stoke-on-Trent) /

There is no point worrying about something that you cannot control.
Everything is predetermined, there is no choice. I think our genetics are so intricate and so complex that every perceived decision that you make on a day to day basis was always going to happen way back to when you were born.
With death, some people were always going to smoke cigarettes. Some people are always destined to kill themselves. Some people were destined to lead the most healthy and nourished lifestyles, yet fall down at 40 because one chromosome determined they would have hereditary heart problems.

I have no recollection of having lived previous lives, but if I did I’m sure I’d have made the same mistakes. It’s the human condition... ☠️ It's normal not to have any memories of earlier lives, since most people are beginner souls. Plus the fact, you are a new person in this life, with new restrictions. So, even if you have lived 10.000 times as a human you won't remember previous lives.

Heart attack in an Amsterdam whorehouse after i"ve shot my jism !!!!!
or, in my sleep
come close to death when i was in Cairns [Oz] coming back on a catamaran after a dive on the reef, told the skipper id swim back [very close to the jetty], he grabbed my arm and said NO STOP !! he had a bit of chicken carcass from our on board meal and threw it over, to be devoured by a saltwater croc alongside our boat !!

I don't so much have the fear of dying, because one way or another it's the only thing in this world that is a certainty, unless there is a miraculous advancement in technology soon.
I'd worry about what I leave behind. Family, Friends, Stoke of course. What makes me curious is always, what is after death? Well I'd say it just all goes black, but you're not gonna see black, because you're dead. In a way we live on through our atoms and energy being repurposed in the universe.
I'd like to think it's not just done with when you're gone. Begin a new life? Afterlife? I don't think about it often, but it boggles my mind when I do. It's like thinking about what the universe came from. What made the nothingness that the big bang came from, how has there always been something with nothing to create it?

It's like thinking about what the universe came from. What made the nothingness that the big bang came from, how has there always been something with nothing to create it? Well, anti-Creator people (the so called humanists) always say three things: 1) Since there is evolution, and the elements existed from the beginning, there is no God 2) Since there was a Big Bang, there is no God 3) Since we have come to more and more fully understand how the evolution works, we have no need for a God But noone can explain how the elements got there in the first place. It's like baking a bread. Someone must have got us the ingredients.
