After his obvious lack of interest in the opening game against Leeds, would you give him another start or play one of the older heads?

That's an impossible question to answer without knowing what has been said behind closed doors this week.
Based on last Sunday he'd never play for the club again but we can't base the decision on just last Sunday's performance.

I think i was more disappointed with him than anybody else on Sunday, purely because of how i perceived his attitude.
The problem with picking him moving forward is that until the 1st of September i think he is more than capable of some mard arsing.
Ideally i dont think i would want him starting this weekend but i think we may well see the same team again barring injury.

He's apparently been making "come ride me" noises to others since end of last season, he doesn't seem to want to be here, so no I hope he doesn't play for us again.
It's this type of self centred arrogant attitude that killing us.
Let him rot if needs be

I really hope it's not the end for him after the promise he showed last season. Hopefully last weekend was just a blip.

To do well in the Championship, you need players who are 100% committed.
You'd expect someone getting such a ridiculous amount of money to do this as a bare minimum but Badou clearly can't be arsed so unless he's had a massive change of heart, he should be kept well away.

He'll be angling for a move abroad still presumably so it might be after, some time after, August 31st before his focus is on Stoke City.
Hopefully he proves that wrong, even if it's playing well to attract a bid.
Suspect the former will be the case.
Agree with above post, play Bojan behind Afobe. Allen to 'sit',Etebo box to box.

If he's not arsed to wear the red and white then you can wire his bollocks up to electrodes as a far as I'm concerned.
If he is, then fucking work hard like the city does 9-5 (or more) each day.

I think Rowett will make changes and go with 4231
Butland Bauer Shawcross Williams Pieters
Allen Clucas Bojan
Ince Afobe McClean
Or he might play exactly the same team with the disorganised middle 3.

I think Fletch will come in for Badou.
Rowett was at pains to point out how much things improved when he came on at Leeds.

? Clucas not back to full training yet I think that Williams will start, not sure who will miss out or which formation will best suit our players for these particular opponents

Did people really expect much more of him against Leeds? His pre-season consisted of 45 minutes against Wolves and he was a major injury doubt going into the match.
He clearly wasn’t fit.

I'm guessing we won't see Clucas as a starter much before Xmas. He says he is 'hopefully a couple of weeks' from starting training so after that he will need the equivalent of a full pre-season, say a further 6 weeks, and then presumably ease his way in with a few practice matches and a spell on the bench. It would be November by then and we have seen enough of knee surgery to know that return dates are a bit like delivery date estimates from Software Developers. You should take what they tell you, double it, then add some and prepare yourself for the fact that it won't work as it should from the start and will have to go back for further changes!

I'd give him the benefit of the (very large) doubt to be honest.....hopefully we'll see a fitter Badou next weekend. Clucas is a few weeks away from starting, isn't he?

We'll see, perhaps my starting matches before Xmas is unduly pessimistic. We've seen a lot of these knee operation situations with Bojan and Affelay and they don't always go as you would like.

Based on last Sunday he'd never play for the club again but we can't base the decision on just last Sunday's performance. Granted he didn't play particularly well but was he really any worse than Joe Allen or Etebo? I didn't think he was. In fact, whatever bits of decent play we did muster whilst he was on the pitch came from him. If he is staying, and the club will know if there is a serious chance of him departing abroad, I'd play him and Allen (who were a decent partnership in the latter part of last season...or at least, the least of our worries) and leave Etebo on the bench whilst he acclimatises to a new club, new country with a shortened pre-season behind him.
