Gen Question . Why do they do a Undisclosed Fee. ? I am sure there is a logical answer but I don’t know what it is. Embarassed at the scrutiny?

Given they paid £15m for him and sold him for less than half that then it's Swansea who must be embarrassed.

Sam Clucas won both the club and player's player of the year with Hull in 2017. In 2016/2017 Hull used him in a more central role.
This form led to the 16 million pound price tag. One could argue that his price has depreciated in light of Swansea using his versatility to try and cover up weaknesses in their team. In a more central role, this could be a very good signing!

Welcome to Stoke, Sam! I for one am very pleased to see that you have agreed to sign for us and help to get us back up to the Premier League. To be honest I am completely fed up with all the negativity that comes to the surface whenever we make a new signing. Let’s face it we are a Championship side now and as such we are never going to be signing top Premier League players nor top players from European Leagues.

He is not a bad player , but he is 28 ( in Sept ) , four year contract , high wages .
We seem to be stockpiling senior players pushing 30 ( older in Fletcher's case ) on big wages and long contracts
Why ?
Nobody , seems to know

A rather strange signing in many ways, but I have to trust Rowetts judgement. Welcome to Stoke, Sam!

Not the obvious defensive midfielder we needed but looks a good signing in isolation. 6’2 to add some much needed height. Comfortable on the ball and can cover a few positions.
For everybody’s who moaning that they want to see the back of Adam and Fletcher, this will now allow us to do that (when he’s fit!) I just hope he can be successful in the defensive mid role for us because we are crying out for someone to do that job.
At 6m it looks good business, Dyche hasn’t got a bad eye and was happy to have him in the premier league, I’m sure he will do us a good job in the championship when he’s up and running. It’s a long season and he will prove his worth I’m sure.
