At least one of three from Crouch, Berahino and Diouf needs to go, if not two or three.
Crouch going does remove our present ability to go route one so I'd expect a target man to come in to replace him.

I would suspect that it would be more about getting rid of his wages than making money on the fee. Would think his wages are still quite high to be honest

Why would we sell our second best striker?

He might still be effective in Burnley 442 so can see that. I'm afraid he completely lacks the pace and mobility to play as a lone striker for us so it's a thanks for everything and good luck because the last thing we need in the Championship is a player who will make us even more ponderous than we already are when we are going forward

There’s not a train from London to Burnley, no chance. As daft as it seems, that will probably mean it's an absolute no-go, you'd think? The journey from London goes from straightforward to a complete pain in the arse. And he'd only get the odd 10 minutes there anyway. Can't see him being interested at all Would he give it a chance for one last crack at European football? I think he’s more bothered about a settled family life at this point.

Find me some examples of a 38 year old outfield player who's signed for more than a million quid. In the real world, 2-4m is laughable for a striker his age. It doesn't happen. The world record fee for a 37-year-old is £2.13m. For a 38 year old it's £765,000. Both were for goalkeepers. I don't give a shit about examples. Crouch has said that he wants to stay and he is a great addition to our squad, especially in this league. If another club wants him, fair enough but they need to be offering more than half a mil. He scores goals and goal scoreres cost money, if their club wants him to stay, which we do.
Yeah ok mate, believe in leprechauns if you want to. Crouch is likely to be third choice here in the Championship. If a Prem side come in for him and can offer him Europe, to boot, it's not going to necessarily be easy to turn around with a dismissive no if the player himself is interested.

Age isn't a factor for someone who can still score goals. Crouch is still worth 2 to 4 mil. Half a mil is laughable. If we'd paid £2m+ for a 38-year-old, how do you think that would go down on here? Burnley are notoriously careful with their money as well.

If he's a 10 goal a season man who would help get us promoted then ok, he's not know for pace so none too lose.

Burnley are becoming Stoke Reserves like we were Sunderland Reserves.
I guess whether Crouch goes or not depends on whether we have another player (like Gayle) lined up. I agree 500k seems low in the current market, despite his age. £1m would be better.

Why would we sell our second best striker? That really is a frightening statement but, unfortunately, entirely accurate.

One of them can go with his head held high, one with a "tried hard" comment and one in a box labelled, Don't open 'till Christmas 2050 by which time I'll be in hell and won't give a toss.

The low point was Diouf (who I really like because he’s a decent bloke) missing a sitter that my gran could have scored and she died in 1965. I’d keep Crouch and let the other two go in a fire sale to save the wages.

Can’t be happy myself for us to get rid of Crouchy he’s a legend here. He’s still got goals in him mind and his Aerial prowess is worth a considerable fee in either the PL or Champ. I’d like to know who else we’d bring in for a big man before being ok with this swap. He’s one of my Favorites and when he scores it’s mint.

It's a sad indictment of our club that 55 year old Peter Crouch is the only one of our footballers attracting any interest.

Why would we sell our second best striker? Peter Crouch has been professionalism personified however, it comes to something when a 37 year old is our 2nd best striker and we've been looking to him to get us out of the mire for so long now.

Love Crouchy and he's been terrific for the club but will be very much a bit part player if he stays. It'll be nice for him to finish at the top. It's right though there's others that should be going ahead of him and I'm sure will.

Crouch has been a fine servant of this club. His attitude never wavered. He may well be among the FINIEST servants overall. I will always appreciate his time with this club. He's both our TALLIEST and 'FINIEST'servant I'd say!
